they are of the same ancestry: the kaldorei. blood elves = high elves = highborne = the noble elites of kaldorei, practice magic. the non highborne = night elves follow druidism.

all kaldorei used to worship Elune = moon goddess. but the highborne was exiled and in quel thalas they worshipped the sun, so they lose their heritage purple hues to pink and shrunk in size. I actually like NE female and BE male look.
