They dropped the first bomb and then demanded the surrender of the Japanese Government. The Japanese Government Refused to surrender. As a matter of fact, even after NAGASAKI, the military was planning to continue the war. By the time the bombs were dropped, the entire country was militarized.

@SCE2AUX Yeah. Economic sanctions would have been better then poisoning the descendants of civilians from the radiation. They were testing the bombs on people. That's why they dropped two different kinds of bombs.
And what do you mean they were right to sanction Japn? If they wanted to help Asia then I'd agree that they were right to do it. But they were doing it because they had control of the Philipines. Basically, they tried stopped Japanese imperialism to protect American imperialism.

Since when was China a colony of the United States? That didn't seem to bother the Flying Tigers in the slightest - or the men who flew the hump. The fact remains that regardless of motivation, Japan was trying to take over Asia and Oceania, and the US was inclined to stop them.

An "apology" ? Really, well, before you slap someone, you should expect to be slapped back and you don't get to dictate how hard that return "slap" will be. I've seen footage of Japanese civilians cheering after their beloved military pulled off it's surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, I think the laughing & cheering ended with the bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki. You cannot claim to be victims when your country started the fight & everyone in that country supported it, up until the tides turned.

Japanese enlisted women from Taiwan, Korea, and China, telling them they would work as nurses in Southeast Asia. Yet, they were actually treated as comfort women. Even to this day, Japan would not apologize to remaining surviving comfort women. Even worse, Japan would not apologize for conducting human experiments on captured soldiers. You Japanese DESERVE the atomic bombs. I'm an Asian American, by the way.

The japs should apologize to china for it's death camps along with how they also treated non chinese prisoners. They were warned to cut their crap, but like hitler they were stubborn and arrogant.
