Whats your technique? I've been playing bass for 16 years, slapin was never my strong point. I cant slap & pop fast enough or keep good time while tryin to do it.For the guys that can do it fast, it looks like there not enev slapin, just hittin the string for a precussive thud, not actually diggin under the string and poping it. Got any advice ?

To slap and pop extremley fast you put your hand in a spreaded-claw postion while still keeping it relaxed. Imagine a see-saw and how the physics work with a see-saw. Use your thumb to bounce your 'popping' finger(s) while slapping and popping. Also imagine a bouncey ball and how many times it bounces if its height to bounce is reduced...it bounces more.

use your left hand fingers to add notes by doing hammer-ons, pull offs, and just tapping percussivly not hitting notes... check out some wooten technique he goes into it and uses it as much (if not more) as double thump

Please, pick up something a little more for that style, like a Warwick Thumb, or a Stingray, hell, a Mayones will do amazing as well. Please stay a little closer to the G Major scale, that's there slapping turns to gold. I'm not saying you have no talent, I'm just saying you're placing it in the wrong areas. I have to say that I get on this technique trough pure causality, inspired on different bassist techniques I'm sure that was pretty much coincidence, I never seen someone playing exactly the same technique that I'm using If you know someone please tell me, In my thoughts I'm happy if this could inspired others to create new things... which is all it matters.
