Thanks so much for this info..i started using the shea butter as a night cream but i didn't see a difference untill about after four months! I'm glad i didn't give up on it..now i don't need to wear makeup coz my skin is so beautiful. Where do you buy the shealoe that you use in the morning?
just discovered your page and thanks for the info! The difference between refined and unrefined shea butter is not the color alone. Shea butter, in its natural form, ranges in color and scent. You can tell it's refined if it's white and has no scent, but all light beige colored shea butter is not refined. As long as it's not like white white and it retains that scent, then it's still unrefined.
I have used Dudu-Osun black soap in the past and the problem with that I found is that it never properly rinsed off. I bought two Nubian Heritage soaps, the Lemon one & the Coconut, and immediately I noticed the difference--they rinsed clean! I'm scared though to go into the African store near me though because I know they're going to push for Dudu-Osun only when it comes to black soap, but I need something that's going to come off my face...
Shea butter is for every ethnicity's skin. I'm indian, and im very much into holistic living, so i prefer using natural products whenever i can. I love that african profucts are so full or natural ingredients, and its not like %1 this and %1 that. its eather %100 or nothing! Shea works very well on the body and face.
sheaLOE its aloe vera and shea butter im guessing? that sounds like my kind of moisturizer!! So it doesnt leave a greasy feel on your skin? and does it absorb quickly?
i want to use a natural moisturizer in the morning, but i think shea butter would be too heavy on those "makeup" days...so would the shealoe be suitable for combantion to oily skin and better to use before applying makeup?
and thanks for letting me know about this product!:)
yes thats exactly what it is! nope, no greasy feel at all! just apply it right after washing your face and then go on about your regular makeup application. and i would say yes, its definitely ok to use on oily or comb. skin cuz its so light. but im still; going to do a test run with that shea butter idea =) glad i could help! anything else you need don't hesitate to ask!
well no, i never actually used my shea butter before applying my makeup, however i DO use sheaLOE butter, which is lighter and more suited for using as a base for makeup. but if you are using shea butter in the morning and not wearing makeup thats great because it works well as a sunscreen. BUT.. i think just to be sure, i will try using just a bit of shea butter before applying my makeup, and i'll let you know how that goes
I have pure shea butter and I can't use it on my face. I have oily skin and it broke me out because I'm guessing it clogged my pores and made my skin extra oily :-(.
I've been reading testimonials and other reviews about black soap and shea and got encouraged to order some. I can't wait to get my order in the mail to help me with my blemishes and acne. Watching videos like yours gives me hope that maybe it will work.
For exfoliating, I use a little bit of baking soda and whatever soap I'm using to wash my face. It's gentle, and works well. and it's something most people have at home.
yes cocoa butter works too. i've never used it as a moisturizer, but i think it might clog your pores if you use it all over your face. shea butter is more like oil because it melts on contact, and it absorbs well into the skin without clogging your pores and breaking you out. in fact it seems to dry out zits and pimples.. that's been my experience.
oh you did!!!? great! yeah that stuff is da truth baby! lol umm when i wash my face, i usually wash it for 1 minute, with my exfoliating scrub pad which i think i showed in the video, but using your hands works just as well. i'll scrub my face with the pad (not too hard) once for about 30 sec, then rinse off the pad to get the extra soap off of it then wash for another 30 sec then rise it off by splashing your face with water, or use a washcloth to wipe the soap away but make sure you get it all
I used black soap once. I'm not sure if it worked. I have black blemishes on my chin because I get ingrown hairs there. I stopped using the black soap because I didn' notice much differences. I use Murad now because it exfoliates my skin so I get less ingrown hairs.
How does the shea butter smell? I usually don't like the smell. I use cocoa butter lotions and oils, but not on my face. Dunno if its okay.
um.. the shea butter has a nutty kind of smell. to me its not bad but some people don't like the smell.. i would say to eliminate that problem, use refined shea butter, but the benefits may not be as good. i dunno if i would go about using a cocoa butter LOTION on my face, but maybe you could use coconut oil or some kind of aloe butter on your face. (aloe has healing properties) however, shea butter CAN be used on the face and would clear up your blemishes. i'll look up more for u and make a vid

what did you use to wash your face first? it matters what cleanser you're using because it may not be right for your skin if its oily.
