I think Prentiss would be more like a responsible older sibling; the kind who is trusted by her parents to always protect and sacrifice for her family. The vagueness of a cousin doesn't quite capture this character's courage. I am specifically thinking of the time her and Reid were posing as social workers on the polygamist compound. She confessed to being the FBI agent so Reid would not be harmed, and boy did they beat her up.

it's amazing that the writers churn out this well-scripted episode with an engaging plot for such a point in the series where a character is being temporarily taken off. i really liked this episode and i'd like to think that they can bring in the same element of personality in many other of their episodes. criminal minds has potential to be a lot but it kinda gets redundant every once in a while.
