  • This was one of Art Garfunkel's best songs.

  • Great song

  • Always liked this song.

  • If people want to know what mature pop music sounds like, it sounds like this. One of the best-written ballads of the rock era.

  • Maybe there is a God?

  • his talent is stellar. This song soars on his voice.

  • they cums too fast ???? 1:46

  • Extraordinarily beautiful song and equally amazing performance. This song is one of my all time favorites.

  • @nickTC100 BS

  • I get shivers down my spine every time I hear this song.

Such a heartfelt, raw, gorgeous performance.

  • Happy birthday!

  • Happy Birthday Art

  • By far the best song he ever recorded what a classic I have not heard this version I think or its been a long time, wow only just over 30,000 listens I am shocked a true master work of sonic art great, great song

  • This song reminds me of Cory and Topanga

  • This song reminds me of Cory and Topanga

  • This should be the theme song for Ronnie and Sammie on Jersey Shore.

  • This song burns like a fire when you're in the middle of break-up or divorce but that only makes the deep emotion in the song more poignant.

  • I only listen to this song because of Nip/Tuck, and it makes me cry.

  • I had forgotten about this beautiful song. I can feel it in my soul.

  • I can't believe Jimmy Webb could write songs as varied as this beauty and that bizarre "MacArthur's Park."

  • talent + humility = decent music

  • One of many gems from the pen of Jimmy Webb.

  • The incomparable Larry Knechtel on piano. A "behind the scenes" genius.

  • Sunday Morning just revived this beautiful song.

  • This is the best version out there. Hands down. Piano is so beautiful. I want the EXACT sheet music for the album version piano :( it's so beautiful..

  • Angels Do visit here from time to time, and sometimes even They are unaware that they are angels.

  • Hey, thanks, kyle --- I've been listening to various version of "AIK" tonight, including Jimmy Webb himself, and got to wondering if JW did the piano on Art's rendition, which is "the" one, I think. You had exactly what I was looking for, here, a list of the people on the session --- Larry Knechtel, eh? :-) Heard that name a few times, here and there, mostly on great records (BTW, I do believe it's "-tel", not "-tal", but I knew who you meant, in any event --- thanks, again!)

  • This Webb masterpiece somehow fell through the cracks of mainstream pop. What a beautiful song sung to perfection by Art Garfunkel. and, let us not forget the georgeous lyrics.

  • Yes...endings always come too fast, but they pass too slow. Makes me cry...so beautiful : )

  • Art's vocals will knock your socks off. This has always been one of my favs.

  • wow suprising :) my grandfathers uncle is stuart canin and ya i guess this one he plays profesional violin

  • You left out Phil Ramone who produced the recording.

  • This has been a favorite of mine since high school a long, long, long, long time ago :-)

  • im suprised art didnt reach the popularity of the solo career that simon had. but lets face it, graceland was an amazing album.

  • @XxLetsTalkGamesxX Yes, it is a good albu. But Art did deserve more faem I think. But, if it had been more successful, he probabaly wouldn't have got to do his wlak across America, his poetry, his famiyl life, his philisophical and spritiual journeys or his artistic growth. Perhaps it planned that way.

  • He is so cute on this album cover. Remember him in Carnal Knowledge?

  • @boomerlady It was a great performance. He has a niave charm about him, which caem through in the film. You litterally though he was 19, 34 and 41 in that film. he coudl act like a virgin teenager, and then a scene later, a middle-aged Jewish doctor. Great Job.

  • Thank you.

  • I first heard this record while preparing to graduate from 8th grade during May 1973. It blew me away then. 37 years later, it still does. My favorite Webb song, performed passionately and beautifully by AG:) --

  • Hands down one of my favorites. Makes me think of my loved ones and how important they are to me.

  • this is one of my favorite songs. i used to go nuts as a kid when I heard this. Love Garfunkel's voice. Love this song

  • Absolutely gorgeous in every way

  • Anybody know where I can get the piano sheet music? I can't find it anywhere. = (

  • Wonderful composition, gorgeous arrangement, peerless interpretation.

Jimmy Webb and Art Garfunkel: two post-Great American Songbook geniuses.

  • An Angel singing in a Cathedral....!

Jimmy Webb................ one of the greatest lyric writers of the last 50 years........ He writes for Angels............. and they express his joy of life!

May God Bless Art and Jimmy for their Amazing talent ........... for we have been indeed blessed by them...!

  • I've always loved Art's voice. Glad to see lots of other people agree!

  • Outstanding lyrics

  • all this time I never knew it was a jimmy webb song. fantastic.

  • Larry Knechtel (LA) and Paul Griffin (NYC) were the top studio musicians on piano throughout the 60's and 70's.

This is a tour de force for Knechtel. Griffin's tour de force was probably his playing on Don McLean's American Pie.

  • nice hair

  • Ower song a long time ago.

  • nice song

  • Excellent sound.

  • Real operatic.
