  • #76:

    Species: Flying Flasher

    Name: Keo

Story: The Flasher refers to the light on his bottom. Anyway, Keo has a nice job working for the Mafia, causing seizures from people looking at that rapidly blinking light. He plans on raising the money, then building a cage, trapping them in it, and giving them seizures. Smart guy.

  • Awesome Dude.............Thanks:)

  • My pleasure, DavidMark80. I'm glad you like the monsters! :^)

  • Thank you, apenneukende! I'm glad you're digging the monsters! :^)

  • Hi SUPERrrCHRIS. I'm glad you like the monsters. You know... I've just been drawing forever. There was some art school in the middle, but it's just a function of time served, I think. :^)

  • np man those r some koll drawing i wish i can draw like that but im goin to be in a art skool so i houp i can lol

hey what kind of pen do u use

  • Just keep drawing. You'll get to interesting places. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombo ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

  • oh ok thx u very muthc im going to buy them lol so i can practis on my work

  • god, I hate talented people. They really piss me off. Sir, I am extra offended at your skill.

I hope you break a finger or something.

  • Thank you, lucasoptura. (I think. :^) So far my fingers are still fine, but I guess I had better be extra careful. :^D

  • Stefan, how did you do the effects ( on the end, especially?) What kind of technique/equippment are u using to create the Vids? I will very appreciate your advices!

Your drawings are INGENIOUS! WONDERFULL. I LIKE YOUR MONSTERS VERY WELL.

I would love to be able to do 1/50 of this.

  • Hi propag, I use I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombo ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink. I make the animations at the end using Anime Studio 5 on a Mac G5. It's a pretty simple little program and not expensive.

Maybe you'll do an Open Source Monster of your own at the site: dailymonster-com.

In the meantime, thank you for coming to visit the Monsters.

  • I simply love you drawings! You are very artistic in the way you draw. I bet you go to an art-school or something^^

  • Hello Lurvetufs. Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you like the drawings. I've been drawing comic-style stuff since I was 6. I did go to art school, too, though. I went to Art Center College of Design in the mid-90s. I had a great time there.

  • how do you do the thing at the beginning, like the thing with the blowing noise?

  • Hi scrunchymatic. I blow air through a straw. It sounds funny with the time-lapse.

  • I wanna learn how to draw like that

  • Thank you, Nick. You're very kind. I'm glad you're enjoying the monsters.

  • That's excellent! I've only got 17 years of drawing. Haha. I'm getting there.

  • i dont like ur monsters i love your monsters

  • You should be proud of your work. IT'S TO COOL! VERY NICE!

  • Thank you very much, GrAubBe. I'm glad you like the monsters!

  • Wow! I watched it a second time to discover what tools you used. I'm envious because even with all those tools and more I couldn't be half as talented as you. Kudos.

  • Hi peanuttydeath18. Thank you for the kind words. It's also a question of time. I've been drawing since I was 3 years old. So... 30 years of drawing. :^)

  • You said somewere else you was drawing since you was 6..

  • Well, comic type stuff since I was 6. But I've been drawing since I was 3. Or before that. I can't really remember. Basically, I was born with a pen in my hand. :^)

  • that is great.. do you do some upside down???

  • Yes, I do. Because I'm a showoff!

  • Hah, that is great, i can write upside down, but thatts about it...

  • so cool

  • WOW I LOVE IT

  • wow that was cool

  • genius!

  • I was wondering if i could do this to? would you care? please respond

  • Absolutely, icedog0! Please go ahead and make some monsters of your own! Please let me see them, too, so I can put them on the site at dailymonster dot com

  • i like your monsters, but they are very similar across the board.

  • Yeah... what can I tell you? It's what I like to do... I'm glad you stil like'em, though, lack of variety notwithstanding. ;^)

  • Pretty COOL. I like how you blow the ink around into all those shapes. When you do the little lettering intro, do you draw that upside-down? Thanks.

  • I do, indeed. Upside down and ni esrever... :^)

  • amazing work, i love all your films!

could you recommend a good set of pens to buy?

  • Hi martypf. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombo ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink. Thank you for coming to visit the Monsters.

  • Inspiring and just great to see you build them. I would make the intro go a bit faster though.

  • Hi 3Storm. Thank you for the feedback. I apreciate it. The Daily Monster series has come to an end, so the intro is what it is. But I'll see if I can write faster for the Weekly Monster, which will start running in late April.

  • lol I was just wanting you to speed up the frames. Cool I can't wait to see the new stuff. Alot of your art would go great on T-shirts or even selling prints. I need to visit you website to see.

  • Hi 3Storm. Both T-shirts and prints are in the works. I should have the first goodies ready for sale in about three weeks. Definitely check the site for updates!

  • fucking nice!

  • Wait, this guy doesn't realy run a bowling alley, does he? He teaches art and runs his own graphics design firm, I bet.

  • The studio is called "Hover Graffix," I'd think. :^)

  • Your stuff is amazing! Just googled you and found your other work. Got here via dooce and her blog. Thanks for a fun break from my SAHM duties.

  • SAHMs are cool! Thank you for using the monsters as entertaiment. And for checking out my regular site, too. I'm glad you like it.

  • BEST ONE YET!!

  • What can't you Draw? you're so Good...

  • That was great! Can't wait to see your next creation.

  • my favorite

  • Regardless of what he does for a living, his unique perspective on squiggles would make a fantastic lesson for any art class.

  • He runs a bowling alley.

  • Brilliant

  • As always, an amazing talent! I'm sure art teachers everywhere love sharing your work with their students.
