@ineurodreams You speak of GTR's as unreliable? the car's have barely been around long to assess long term reliability. And don't count Launch Control as unreliability; original setup was too extreme on the tranny; not reliability but a perfomance imbalance. It's been revised, and actually now even quicker.

Launch Control would grenade your 335 to bits! BTW, it's not even needed on track. The real irony here is you own BMW's yet trash other makes reliability...do you see the humor!

@blowbyu24 Yes I do and so is my BMW. They both come from the factory with twin turbos and AWD. The GT-R is better in performance in every aspect, I'll give it that. I just don't want to deal with the maintenance headaches of trying to use it as a daily driver. One would almost need two GT-R's if they wanted to daily drive it and take it to the track.

@ineurodreams Actually the R-mode in the 2012 GTR allows you to use launch control without voiding your warranty. They just ask that after using it 4 times in a row, that you drive it 1.5 miles to cool the systems before you can use it again.

@ineurodreams We had a twin turbo BMW, but it had a lot of issues. So far, our GT-R is flawless; it may be a supercar, but it's still Japanese, and Japanese reliability >> German reliability.

Some people say it takes less skill, conversely I think it would help someone focus on what is more important. I am all for technology helping us become better drivers and going faster. I haven't driven one yet, but a Porsche guy is a guy that knows cars with souls and if you say a GT-R has one, then it makes me want to drive one all the more.

@ineurodreams I read an articlein motortrend that states the 2012 gtr now has 530 hp. As far as the launch control the transmission has been revised and nissan states that you do not void your warranty as long as you wait 15 minutes between using launch control in order to let the transmission cool. Which makes sense because 90% of transmission failures are due to heat build up.

Nissan, I am disappoint. The problem wasnt just the launch.. car was quick enough 0-60. The problem was its lack of top end acceleration. From a roll at 60mph even a ZO6 would eat the old GTR.

The GTR took 52 seconds to reach 186mph while most super cars take in the low 30's. Thats one issue that should have been resolved with the new GTR.

Yes Anthony, that is true. Go to fastestlaps and look at the acceleration times yourself. Most supercars accelerate to 186 mph in the 30 second range. The ZR1 for example takes 32 seconds. It takes the GTR 52 seconds to hit 186 mph... which is terrible. After its super fast 0-60mph sprint.. the show is over.
