That was my opinion after the first listening to "Perfect Symmetry" as well but after listening to it a few times, it's much better. A bit like how it was for me to adapt to Coldplay's album Viva la Vida from what they had previously done.

This song for one thing is addictive as hell. Though I admit that I don't like the sound of the keyboard in some songs on this new album and that Under the Iron Sea is a great album that's hard to beat (though Hopes and Fears is even better imo).
