Not only was Nishio's aikido beautiful to see, it was a pinnacle of technical excellence. It takes a lot of dedication to understand what he is doing and then do it, which is sadly why most aikido remains in the sad shape it is. I encourage every aikido person to dedicate themselves and become a student of the work Nishio did. You simply cannot understand Nishio without the sword.
Nishio Sensei was the answer to all the people who asked why we hold on as uke. This guy would be all over you with strikes. He was also what, a 7th dan in Karate too? Anyone in Los Angeles looking for Nishio Aikido, and Oyata Kempo should look up Robert Bryner. Bryner Sensei is razor sharp, as are his students.
i am really sorry to know that nishio sensei passed away .his style ia so flowing,i love the ''kaitannaga sotomawata'' that he has showed here.i never saw nishio sensei ,but ilove his stuff.
