My FIRST transistor radio was an Xmas gift, circa 1958, from my mom & dad. It was an Admiral SEVEN transistor (not a punkass six, but SEVEN! ~ though to this day I never knew what that 7th "sister" did for me). Roger McGuinn is a legend, a guy who's 12 string Rick and 7 string (with a G doubled, one an octave higher) created the trademark signature sound of the Byrds.

Roger McGuinn is amazing. I just had dinner with him and his lovely wife Camilla. they are very nice people. my dad is friends with him.

USA first for the pocket transistor radio. Then along came Sony and that was the end of that.

Roger McGuinn is such a relaxed and cool guy. I still need to pick up one of those Regencys (yeah right). You have got to love the Transistor Radio.

Puts my little (mostly zenith) collection to shame, but I do at least have a pristine 'big speaker' royal 500.. my favorite AM pocket.
