  • Top tv trip.

  • does anyone else think Hector was a pimp?

  • Turned the car into a fire engine? And she forgot? WTF? Random!

  • Hector's a bit of a manwhore, two women at his house every day-_-

AND he complains about everything and just wants to go to bed, TYPICAL MAN.

  • @NancyStar345 Poor Hector walks to the store in the hot weather and does all the work, and instead of thanking him they complain about what he didn't buy. TYPICAL WOMEN

  • good night <3

  • I remember counting the birds hidden in Hectors tree.

  • acid played a big part of kids tv imho :)

  • People always say the creators etc of programmes like this were on some drug. Yes the drug was imagination. And people spoke like that because they didn't feel the need to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

  • I cant believe that I actually enjoyed watching and listening to this nonsense when I was much younger. What kind of drugs was Hector abusing when he turned his car into a fire engine? Hector's memory problems are a direct result of his rampant alcoholism and consequently this is why that program is no longer broadcast.

  • whooooo hectors houseee

  • I used to watch this in the late 60s. I CANNOT believe the plummy accents! I never realised they spoke like royalty! haha.

  • talk about a blast from the past. I've just turned 43 but feel 3 watching this. the writers were defo on something, lsd maybee.

  • "we turned the car into a fire engine"

    Seem's perfectly logical to me?....

  • Car into a fire engine, of course, how silly of me....WHAT?!?!

  • Wow Hector is pussywhipped by Zsa Zsa! And froggywhipped to boot.

  • Go get it yourselves, you pair of harpies!

  • Why does he have a kennel and a house?

  • Why does he have a kennel and a house?

  • That is too funny, I remember that I hated that damn frog too...

  • yes zaza!! it makes perfect sense! why wouldn't you turn your car into a fire engine! idiot!

  • @StinkingHobo LMAO

  • Oh my god, what a surreal experience watching this with such a feeling of familiarity even though I don't consciously remember it.

  • YAY! Hector's House, Blue Peter, and Vision On. Could it get any better?

  • magic;-)

  • If you're tired of Hector's House, you're tired of life!

  • I'm five again! Wheeeee! Silly old Hector!

  • vmjvdjkv

  • i always hated the frog

  • We were on some crack when we were young....

  • The voice of Hector was the voice of actor Paul Bacon. A truly charming and lovely man.Very kind and talented. He co-starred opposite Anthony newley in the musical The Good Old Bad Old days in the 1970's. he was a good friend. R.I.P. Paul.xx.

  • @StinkingHobo my kind of humour that dave.

  • "I don't understand why you walked into town, why on Earth didn't you go in your car Hector?""Oh really Zsa Zsa, stop talking nonsense. You know as well as I do we turned the car into a fire engine.""Ohhhh yes!"..."And although you may not have noticed it, people aren't in the habit of going shopping in fire engines.""You're right there!"

  • They really are a cheeky pair of shits. Why are they so mean to Hector?

  • @diamondogz Because they are posh bastards Lol!

  • Ace.

  • Wonderful memories. The problem today is that today, most people have forgotten about God. Until people collectively repent and pray for themselves, family, their community, and nation, things are going to get much worse. Jesus saves, people, we need to seek the Lord and repent.

  • @JesusRedeems771

you're absolutely right, Jesus bled and died on the cross for us and none of these bastards give a shit do they? i hope they all spend eternity in the lake of fire, being eaten from the inside by worms and tormented by demons with hooks and forks.

btw, who's your favourite H.H. character? i like Kiki.

  • @norristerse. Very true. Unbelievers will look back at how wonderful life was back then, but, we, the faithful in Christ, have a promise from God that is taking us back to those wonderful, happy, and innocent times in heaven, but, it will be infinitely better. Now the reality of that promise fills my heart with incredible joy every single day.

My favorite H.H. character? I loved them all, they were all very special and gave me so much joy.

  • @JesusRedeems771

me too, although my favourite programme was the Pogles.

the word of God fills me with joy too, but i do sometimes despair of mankind when i hear the amount of blasphemy and desecration going on these days. it really fucks me off no end.

  • @norristerse

Exactly, it makes me sick to the stomach. The parents who lived during the golden age of the 70's are as much to blame for the moral chaos in our society. It is because of their liberal moral values and failure to bring them up in a strong Christian environment, that we are in this mess. Until people are humble enough to accept that they are not god, but there is one who is even higher than them, their Maker, this country deserves to die and go to hell. And it will.

  • @JesusRedeems771

i like "The Clangers" as well.

  • @norristerse

Me too, just loved it. My other favourites were Chigley, Trumpton, and Camberwick Green and Mary, Mungo, and Midge which were shown at luncthimes. And of course, Rainbow. Teatime after school were really fun times, when we feasted on Jackanory, Playschool, Magic Roundabout, ScreenTest. Ah, those days were just heaven. I actually bought a dvd collection of some of these great programmes to watch with the family or on my own. Life was so good then.

  • @JesusRedeems771

it still is, mate! you've only got to look a bit closer!

(camberwick green was the bollocks, wasn't it? did Brian Cant do the narration if i remember right? he's great!)

  • @norristerse Ya silly beggar, hahaha.

  • @diamondogz

thank yu, sah! (i think JesusRedeems771 took me seriously, poor sod!)

  • @StinkingHobo Hey babe whats the connection with the ambulance?

  • The best!

  • hectors house if freaking terrifying and im not easily scared

  • the most irritating fecking kids programme of its era!!

  • I never knew Hector was french, shame.

  • Very nostalgic

BTW did Hector give Kiki a back hander at 0.39 ?

    Thanks for posting man

  • love it. was born in 86. and watched it on repeat most nights. good ole kiki, zazza and hector!

  • Hector how wonderful it is to see you, the memories are just so so wonderful!

  • i was born in 88 i still remember this cartoon. loved it x

  • Hector's voice was performed by Paul Bacon, who died in 1995. The voice of Kiki was by Denise Bryer, more famous for her roles in Noddy, Terrahawks and Labyrinth. The voice of Zsazsa was supplied by Joanna Lumley. At least 50 episodes were made, each of 5 minutes duration..

  • Loved Hector.. I was born in 1962 and this has brought back so many memories for me to... hehe

  • this has brought good memories of my childhud i was born 1961

  • Does Anyone Know If Kiki Was The Cat Or The Frog ?? :) Thanks xxx

  • @Ellzz1996 KiKi was the frog.. ZaZa was the cat..

  • ha ha ha ha ha ha cried when I saw this, brought back memories, when I was a nipper..

  • A BIG BOLD HECTOR!!!!

  • i remember watching this and i was born in 1992 lmao

  • What's with this equality we are supposed to enjoy now in the modern world. Hector is loaded with an abundance of menial household chores while that stupid cat just giggles her way through the whole episode. No wonder us men are all in the mess we are in. And don't even mention that bastard frog.

  • @SteveBZ69 i hated that snooty frog too, she was always sticking her nose over that wall, listening to other people buisness

  • i hate that foookin frog!

  • ahaha i used to luv this yet im 13 now :D

  • aw i loved this programme, they should bring back these classics

  • @bertiedump

    typing whisky? surely not.

  • I was born in 64 - this was my fav prog

  • Wot a load of old pish

  • @bertiedump ack wise up would ye!!

  • @bertiedump I suspect you're seeing this through the lens of 4 decades of jaded cynicism, adding several layers of contemporary assumptions & acceptance of modern sexual morés.

It was a far more innocent time. Notions of sexuality wouldn't have occurred to the makers of a children's television puppet show in the middle of the '60s, it just didn't happen.

However, it was French & Hector does look like a gay stripper with that shirtless collar and tie, not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • @geffel "Notions of sexuality wouldn't have occurred to the makers of a children's television puppet show in the middle of the '60s"

o come on your memories letting you down, no notions of sexuality, what about Captain Pugwash with seamen stains, Roger the cabin boy and master Bates, surely theres a hint of doubl'e entendre there.

  • @MindCrazedBanjo Ah, that urban legend. It was Tom the Cabin Boy, there was no seaman staines, but you may be right that there was a mister Bates - however, most people buy into the the myth that is was 'master bates', which, of course, it was not.

  • @MindCrazedBanjo Sorry old bean but it's an urban myth that there were characters called that. It's not true.

  • @bertiedump you just cracked me right up lol

  • hectos house !

  • Posh Welsh, you can't beat it!

  • @stevanroth Ah, you've met Philip Madoc, then?

  • i still think hector was giving kiki one

  • wowza my 3 yo loves this.

  • wowza

  • Kiki the frog scared the crap out of me as a kid - I used to hide behind the settee!

  • This video has shaped my Mothers and my Aunt life, they have actually taken characteristics from this, and explain many, many, disturbing things. Including my nickname, Kikilovebucket, will never be same to me.

  • I'm a randy old hector!

  • I bet Hector snorts a line of charley out the cats shit-chute, whilst she sucks his cock and Kee Kee licks his balls !!! Quality viewing !!

  • @vespajedi What episode was that?....

  • why do we ever grow old ??? lol

  • @147BAZZY - we grow old, but we never grow up, which is why we're watching Hector's House!

  • Good Lord! - so all along Hector was really Ted Heath!

  • Ah memories!

  • This show scared the bejeezus out of me as a kid...it's those wide, saucer eyes that freak me out the most *shudders*

  • :')

  • I have a bad memry?? he he i sure dont i remeber it we play it in greece years ago!

  • is that Matt Lucas doing the voice of Hector, lol :)

  • So cute!

  • Just when I thought I couldn't relate to this program he forgot to take his hat off despite him having said he was going to... we've all been there

  • im 15 and im pretty sure i watched this when i was very young

  • @JACKgagaELLIOTT I'm 15 and we had this on video - watch with mother

  • My mum bought me the entire series the other year for my birthday. I watched the first few episodes and was just like "What the fuck is this? Why is a dog married to cat, yet has the frog as a fuck buddy?" :|

But then i foudn the show hilarious & proper amazing after like the 5th episode :')

This episode pisses me off at the beginning cause Kiki the frog who doesn even live with Hector is bitching to him cause HE didnt but HER any writing paper! BUT IT YOURSELF NEXT TIME BITCH!! :')

  • @mattheeley19 ....and what did your mother say after you used all these expletives..? Was she upset....or did she think you were 'proper amazing'....?

  • HECTOR has a scary werid voice :o oh really zaza lol

  • hector should have battered the two dear ladies nagging cunts

  • Hector should say - 'how about I wring your fucking neck you green turd!' He's off doing the shopping for those two shits and all they do is give him backchat and try and take the piss.

  • That bloody frog always annoyed me.

  • @royallen0

    LOL

    yea

  • @royallen0 :O No way its so funny :D

  • pair of slappers !

  • This takes me back im 5 years old again lol ! Hectors the man

  • A Dog called Hector, and the whinging Cat and Frog all living in a house, I think somebody was smoking the reefer when they came up with that idea, but nonetheless quite enchanting.

  • A Dog called Hector, and the whinging Cat and Frog all living in a house, I think somebody was smoking the reefer when they came up with that idea, but nonetheless quite enchanting.

  • Someone said that Hector sounds like Edward Heath. I agree.

  • i was fucking scared of that frog, man

  • so good to see it again!

  • used to love this as a kid! always found it rather creepy though for some reason!

  • As a child of the 1960s, I never realised their accents sounded so plummy, and never thought it strange at the time that a dog, cat and a frog should be living together! Innocent days!

  • which one was old hecter doing?

  • @deano8718 both of course, stupid

  • Used to watch this........like all the time. My mum bought lots of the videos and I loved them. Damn that frog was a nosy bitch!

  • This is THE best childrens episode ever made !!!!

  • 'Dog in the forehead, but at heart a Doe'

  • i used to LOVE this.......

  • This and the Herbs scared me - and I was a streetwise 9 year old council estate boy. The way they moved? That frog? That cat? Terrifying...still scared. I'm an Asst. Headteacher now - I should use it for detentions - they'd behave then! It is probably because they never seemed to eat chips and beans like me...are they posh? Frightening.....!!

  • This is sexist...... like a grapefruit

  • There were two versions of the 'Hectors House' theme. I believe this was the second arrangement. Gosh Hector was sooo pompous !!

  • This is the best tv ever: youngsters nowadays are missing all this.

  • Why is called hectors house? Its never in his house, also its Joanna Lumleys voice for ki ki the frog!!

  • Was Hector a send up of the then British prime minister Ted Heath?

  • id do the frog

  • Does anybody know if this episode is on the Hectors House DVD? because i know many of them are included but not some.

  • I love Hectors voice and the way he walks about quickly! :D.

  • I first heard of this when those "One Account" spin-offs were on the ad breaks!.

  • My guess was wrong. Hector was voiced by Paul Bacon.

  • Hahaha, really enjoyed seeing this again, and I've just bought the DVD (30 episodes). I have vague memories of watching this in the seventies. I love the voice-overs! Is that Donald Sinden voicing Hector?

  • I remember watching this, i was born in '68, so it must have been around 72 or '73. It goes some way to explaining why I'm not quite right in the head...

  • @TheBeez500

Funny, I was born a year later and I don't remember this at all! It wasn't until someone mentioned it on a Dr Who commentary that I watched this so I knew what the hell they were talking about! It's very sweet!

  • @TheBeez500 Born in 68 as well, I know what you mean lol memories

  • @TheBeez500 so was i fela lol its thisfault we are fucked in the head lol thatfrog ....

  • just frix it there and then, for all the labels!

  • ...Were ZsaZsa and Hector engaged...someone told me they were...

  • I suspect he was literally pussy-whipped.

  • The best ever!

  • Hector a jive nigga fo sho.

  • togheter are lovely include hector?

  • this cartoon is old only the 1970,s?

  • Hector is such a dog!!! menage a trois. In turns? Or all together?

  • They talk so fast.

As a kid I would've probably loved it

  • I'd like to thump that green frog in the jaw, hector missed a trick there

  • A friend of mine was saying . . . why doesn't Hector ever sing a doleful song about how he will never quit the blood feud that his grandfather started?

  • I cried when my brother told me that Hector was not real i was only 7 years old be god now when i see this i think feck lol

  • I have just watched a bit of Mary, Mungo and Midge which was even more awful than I remember - but this is actually quite good - it is so resolutely mental.

  • @andylimn what an exelent way to decribe this...resolutely mental...ilove it!!!!!!

  • bagpuss was far better.

  • hector never forgets what he has to do !

  • Comment removed

  • Never heard my dad swear so much when he came in from work and this was on before the news.

  • I ment to say the VCR was around a decade AWAY. Around 1980 if i remember correctly.

  • They seemed a lot more realistic when I was 7 years old!!

  • Oh I'm a silly old Hector

  • i love this clip

  • oh how cute

  • hector is a classic case of domestic violence

  • what?

  • I am so glad i found this. I remember it from my Childhood. But i unfortunately sold all my videos of it years ago. :-(

  • You remember this from your childhood but you sold all your videos years ago, you don't know how strange that sounds to me. I remember this from my early childhood when the invention of the video recorder/player was well over a decade ago. The VCR wasn't even science fiction at the time because nobody had veven conceived the idea. I didn't realise that they even ran repeats of this show after the late 60s/early 70s but it seems they did and i missed it.

  • I love thuis even though it was finished 24 years before i was born XD

why does everyone hate the frog? she cracks me up with her snide smarmy comments XD

any chance you could upload more of this great programme?

  • The voice of Hector was the voice of actor Paul Bacon. Also famous for the Pal with nourishing marrowbone jelly commercial. Lovely paul is sadly no longer with us.
