  • 7:45 gives me goosebumps, I love it.

    Sigur Ros is amazing!

  • 8 people Not any feeling !

  • This song....is just........beautiful.

  • Eargasm. Ahhhh. This is heaven for me.

  • Sigur Ros is my therapy!

  • beautiful piano music!

  • This song has me excited for Christmas!

  • Make this the song at my funural<3

  • @AdorableRaven sorry for my english i'm french but for your funeral listen bande of horses "funeral" or atticus ros "panoramic" it's really .....amazing if you like sigur ros "ara batur" i think you like also ...i hope for you "svefn g englar" and "viorar vel til loftarasa" amities de france!!!

  • without a doubt one of the most beautiful songs ever made. and to think that the music industry is dominated by such crap like "put your hands up" and get on the floor". THIS is pure class. THIS is what real music is about. THIS is an honour to listen to. Fuck off Bieber

  • @sebthecat01

    You speak the truth

It's so sad that many people dont know about music like this

  • The line that got me was: "Ég fór, þú fórst", meaning "I parted, you parted."

  • I would say that I hope THIS is the song I hear when I die and Christ allows me (an imperfect human) to enter eternity with Him... but I think this song won't compare to the beauty of THAT music. Very close though.. :)

  • If everyone in the world listened to this song, there would be no war.

  • "Good God what an amazing song 'Ara Batur' is. I have very rarely been touched by music on an emotional level, let alone by a piece sung in a language I cannot understand. Sigur Ros have had many works which include a build up to a powerful climax, however none of them can quite compare to this one in terms of power, emotion and beauty. This song is monumental, perplexing, beautiful and captures the essence of what makes us human. After listening to this, I can truly say: I've felt the absolute"

  • @adeb0017 would you kindly like to inform me of other songs they have made that include "a powerful climax"? The only one i know of is "staralfur", my other favorite.

  • @K3vinEddie Well firstly you should know that the quote is of a review that i written (hence the quotes). Sigur Ros often used to go for the climactic ending. Vaka is a good example I think. And even Glosoli.

  • @adeb0017 thank you, thank you!

  • @K3vinEddie did you like Glosoli?

  • @raysaudia meh i only really like Ara Batur and Staralfur - haven't come any that come close to rivaling them.

  • The black screen is the best way to hear this music...

  • i cannot explain

    this feeling

    people need to dream

    to become to be

    wonder is a wish away

    everything is here

    believe in you

    then all dreams come true

  • Outstanding! Brilliant! Wonderful! There are no words to describe this song... Simply amazing.

  • c'est vraiment beau :)

  • Beautiful, Uplifting song

    5 stars

  • One minute I’d been looking at the cars blunder by, careless and bored, and the next the wheels started to turn into biscuits and the rain started to look like thick, black oil and the air became oil too and then I couldn’t breathe, not because of the oil but because I’d forgotten how and a person walked by and oil trickled down the person’s cheek, or was it their leg,

  • This song has been helping me deal with the death of my little brother 4 months ago.

  • body suit of goosebumbs. thank you.

  • walk into a room full of people at 7:43 makes you feel so important and epic

  • Just purchased this album on vinyl. Needless to say, I am stoked.

  • I literally can't focus on my homework because of how beautiful this song is.

  • I always assumed these guys were metal because they're Scandanavian. They're a bit more interesting than that, however.

  • @dogmasevil They're not Scandanavian

  • @dogmasevil

I'm glad they're not metal because I hate metal

  • For a huge fan of genre's such as Hip-Hop and Dubstep, yet this could possibly my all time favourite song. Wow, just, wow..

  • meravigliosa...

  • cette chanson est pure

  • great song! probally you guys also will like this one: cabaret caputain - ' laterne ' (in my channel: watch?v=dL7jutnxol0&feature=channel_video_title)

  • this song makes me feel like nothing in this world matters and for once, I can think about myself. Even though I cannot understand what is being said, it all seems to make perfect sense.. beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I ♥ Sigur Ros

  • sigur ros brings out the dime store philosophers in droves

  • Icelandic should be a world language :D

  • I don't even know what this song is about. But it doesn't matter. The music speaks.

I imagine it to be about the purest form of adoration/love for another human being that is possible.

  • This album came out a few weeks after my grandmother died, and I bought it the day we had to go clean out her apartment. It always makes me think of her, but this song specifically. Every time I listen to the crescendo at the end, it brings me close to tears.

  • comment elle est trop reposente cette chanson!

  • this song gives me hope

  • some people dont understand what real music is,to all of you listening to Sigur Ros, you guys do!

  • It's good that people in American get to know music from other countries. Music is a universal language. You can tell how someone is feeling just by their music. :)

  • beautiful song

  • If i would try to describe heaven, i would let people listen to this song. I was in heaven for 9 minutes ^^

  • the video stopped at about a minute in, i raged, but then realised i could just start it again ^^

  • were doing a performance with this song im in winter guard and i completely fell in love with this song

  • Every time I listen to Sigur Ros, I'm taken on a spiritual journey. It doesn't matter if I've heard the song before. In fact, I cried when I heard this song, again. Didn't cry the first time, but something about it just brought the tears... It was great.

  • Maybe if more people listened to music like this instead of that hip hop or heavy metal crap society would be better off!

  • I know people tend to get all sappy n stuff regarding this song and here I am about to add to the pile. I was coming to terms with impending death of my gramp, i was out reflecting remembering him and others who recently passed. As the song reached its climax the clouds opened up and the sun came shining down. I just pulled over and smiled while the tears came streaming down. Like God just looked down and said "Don't worry son, your gramp is going to finally rest and he won't be alone."

  • @balzak00 Thanks allot, it's not like i wasn't already crying

  • @Cheshykid ha sorry, i had to share my tale just to help myself accept what was happening. now whenever i listen to this song i just smile because i know my gramp is at peace. i hope you have a similar catharsis, if you happen to need it.

  • @balzak00 that's incredible. rest in peace to your gramp.

  • @balzak00 Beautiful Story, my friend.

  • @balzak00 What the fuck is a gramp?

  • @Hhersoug LOL a way to ruin a touching story . gramps =grandfather

  • @balzak00 nice

  • @balzak00 WHAT THE FUCK MAN!!!! WHY DID YOU SAY THAT?!?!?! DON'T MAKE ME CRY.

  • @balzak00 This will be more helpful to me than you'll ever know. And Thank you for that

  • The fact that these guys aren't considered legendary is a fucking travesty

  • @donoto9 I think they are considered legendary... unfortunately just not by many people :(

  • @Jlzrd the ingeligent people do it

  • the end had me in shivers

  • This song is breathtakingly gorgeous, and dreamy. I want to cry from the sheer perfection of it.

  • @MdmaMadnesS

Thank you, the songs are beautiful

  • this song is maybe one of the most beautiful things I^ve ever heard...This makes me so sad and the same time so happy...Its so beautiful that it nearly hurts...SIgur Ros at it's best...!

I hope you don't see this as a spam, but I think this will interest some of you...

I found a band on youtube called "Nyctalgia"

If you've got the time listen to their song "Lost in timeless horizons" and "Falling into nothingness"

Breathtaking powerful songs by this extremely young guy..

  • You know when you love someone when you look into their eyes and this song plays in your head ha. But this song is one of my favorite songs by sigur ros its completely amazing.

  • I'm literally crying

  • This song is so heartbreaking to me. It reminds me of my pregnancy and the baby I lost.

  • @jacachu Sometimes life turns around and smacks you in the face. But thats when you have to get up and keep pushing forward, never give up. I feel terrible for your loss, but don't give up, keep being strong, and let this song remind you of what you've been through, and make you stronger every time you listen to it.

  • When I first listened to this song, I started to laugh, and I was saying, "Yes! Yeeesss!" Anyone who witnessed this event may have and still do believe that I am insane. Do I care? Naaaahhh.. This song made me the happiest man on Earth for about 8 minutes and 57 seconds. I LOVE Sigur Ros. Now if only I could have been climbing a mountain like that other guy. SHEW, I would have just died.

  • The beautiful thing is when you listen to these songs they take you far away to beautiful places and not many would understand :) <3. I also love to see that the great people in YouTube actually are hear instead of having to see dumb comments elsewhere. It's great! Takk

  • Me and my fiancee are using this song for our first dance, a very special band for us both personally, planning on going to iceland for our honeymoon and I have this lovely picture in my head of us meeting sigur ros while we are there and they play this. possible one of the best pieces of music ever made, like other people i listened to this stoned. it actually felt like i was going to self combust with joy lol

  • The BEST SONG EVER!!

  • i wish sigur ros would play over the dramatic emotional moments of my life

  • @bigpimpdaddy69 love the build up around 5:20. but when it reaches its climax at 7:45 i got tingles and chills all over my body. i love how this music makes everything signifigant and beautiful

  • i wish sigur ros would play over the dramatic emotional moments of my life

  • if i could put the word "happiness" into sounds this would be it!!

  • I absolutely love this song but I personally feel the first part went on too long before getting to the stunning climax, does anyone agree?

  • @gatheringleaves I wouldn't say I agree with you, but this could be the case for many others. I personally love having to wait so long for an AMAZING climax. It makes it just that much more special for me when it happens. However, I am a weathered fan of post-rock music, so I"m used to it, I suppose. :) cheers.

  • Yeah I guess I could see it that way

  • I Learned something very Important from a friend while I was listening to this... It meant so much more to me.

  • i thought i was the only one who watched nature and listened to sigur ros at the same time. its probably the best feeling in the world.

  • @gooooosebumps That's what I do.

  • If somebody asked me to explain what is beauty, how I understand beauty, the only thing i would do is telling him to listen to this song.

  • Hands down, this is the most beautiful song I have ever heard.

  • this song is so powerfull and i get chills when ever i hear it

  • My mind doesn't understand a single word, but my body does and it's so clear...

  • @phaellu

I think for me it's my spirit that totally gets it. It's so easy to get lost in this music. It is like meditating. It's so beautiful.

  • @phaellu

This is Icelandic. But othervise i agree with you.

  • If I die, it would be a privilege to listen to this.

  • @NecronRon Agreed, I want this to be the last thing that I hear as my days end.

  • @mhatter5

    Gotta be legendary

  • i'm not religious at all. but this song makes me think that it's impossible for a god.. or anything spiritual... not to exist.

  • @emailwiz2

Those things do exist, in one's mind. That's all that matters

  • @emailwiz2 I agree, but I believe that if you are a Christian, this is what dying and going to heaven is going to be like. Except it will keep on building and building forever.

  • this is beautiful! I always get chills while I'm listening the end of this song ....they are just wonderful x

  • they speaks from the bottom of the heart great composition makes me a better person thanks for posting

  • This should be the epitaph of the entire human race

  • I'd never thought that music could be this excruciatingly beautiful.

  • I never notice how long this song is...because it's so enrapturing.

  • Sigur Ros is the complete opposite of the metal I'm usually listening to, but I'm really starting to enjoy this artsy sound...

It's so absolutlely stunning... the vocals, the piano, everything.

  • They play this in the queu for heaven ...

  • i'm trying to write a paper while listening to this song and i just can't! i can't help but stop and sit back in amazement..

  • I like to think I know my music and have varied and eclectic tastes, and believe that this is the most beautiful song ever written.

Thankfully more and more people are becoming aware of this unique and extra ordinary band and they will move away from cult status.

How wonderful that more people are touched by this and 'Glosoli' and 'Hoppipolla' and 'Sven-n englar'.

The more people who listen to their music the better this world will be.

    Bless You - Sigur Ros

  • @wightnproud wonderfully put!

I can think of no other band that has had a more powerful effect on people.. they seem to hit you right in the inner child in the best possible way

  • Very well said.

  • @wightnproud 'Glosoli' is painfully beautiful. Everytime i listen to anything from Sigur Ros, i have to sit and think.

  • beyond words...

  • Don't understand a single word, but I really like the music.

  • I can't listen to this song while driving or operating heavy machinery. It completely paralyzes me...

  • when i heard this song for the first time i was driving so you can imagine i had to stop the car...i totaly agree with you

  • @CloverEleven I'd get checked for narcolepsy or diabetes :-P Just joking, I hear ya :thumbs up:

  • @CloverEleven

Do you operate a lot of heavy machinery?

  • i just love this

  • God...

  • This has to be one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded.
