  • This cartoon has been around for some years, and I just discovered it. Wonderful!

    Terrific! Glad I found it.

As for plagiarism, that is completed different than being influence by other artists.

Doesn't apply here. Great job, Mr. Hilburn.

  • What a plagiarizing douche, making your entire living as a carbon copy of someone else's.

Must be a weird feeling for Scott, realizing thousands and thousands of people think you are a talent-less piece of shit hack.

  • Mr. Hilburn, It is evident that you are a funny guy and I am sure that you have the potential to be a great comic artist, but I cannot respect the degree to which you are trying to emulate 'The Far Side'. As much as I would love to experience more of Mr. Larson's work, I am content with my box set of his classic portfolio until he decides to make his return to the funnies. Your enthusiasm is encouraging, but your mimicry is mockery. Find your voice Mr. Hilburn and you will be great.

  • Sorry but this just isn't funny. The Far Side influence is obvious, but it apparently didn't sink in very far.

  • Give the guy a break. Most of his comics are funny. So what if they resemble Gary Larson's? The jokes are original. No plagiarism involved.

  • Ripoff artist

  • Hey, Scott-

    "Influenced" by Gary Larson? Influenced?

I can play "Stairway to Heaven" on a guitar. I was influenced by Led Zeppelin.

    Yeesh.

  • Given accolades for brazen plagiarism. Pretty depressing.

  • Influenced by Gary Larsons "The Far Side?" really? We could never have picked. :-/

    There's influence, and theres plagarism.

  • FAR SIDE RIPOFF

  • You copied newspaper comics as a kid. Hmmm, I would have never guessed.

  • Yesterday the panel featured as a plastic surgery patient a "Ms Kidman." On the radar screen of those who have extensive surgical enhancements, i.e., Cher, Joan Rivers, Heidi somebody, I had not seen Nicole Kidman. A perhaps unrelated item was her recent tour for Nine, in which she was asked about her membership in a certain cult - she refused to answer. The perpectually curious wonder if there is a connection beween her Scientology status and her selection for this "comic" panel.

  • It seems that most cartoonist also

    have a sense of humor.

    Great job Scott Hilburn!

I put too much effort into drawing,

which consumes too much of my time.

I wish I could draw with less effort.
