Also, he told the refs in the 2001 playoffs that it would be in the NBA's best interest extend the series between the kings and lakers and basically made the refs screw the kings out of the playoffs. The NBA only lets teams with large fan bases in lucrative markets win. This is not to say that just because a team is in a lucrative market they WILL win, just, that being from small unlucrative markets makes it nearly impossible. If finacial analysis was done and projected a Milwaukee vs Portland series would gross 100 million in revenue, compared to an LA vs Boston series grossing 400 million, well, I guess we know which the league would prefer. The only question is do they make it happen?

The NBA only lets teams with large fan bases in lucrative markets win. This is not to say that just because a team is in a lucrative market they WILL win, just, that being from small unlucrative markets makes it nearly impossible. If finacial analysis was done and projected a Milwaukee vs Portland series would gross 100 million in revenue, compared to an LA vs Boston series grossing 400 million, well, I guess we know which the league would prefer. The only question is do they make it happen?

I remember a playoffs series where Spurs' Horry(I think) hit Nash pretty hard, and both benches stood up. Only Suns' players were not permitted to play the next game, Spurs won the series.
