  • ok i have a 22inch lcd tv can i hook it up without hdmi my tv has somethin that says pc in it already has a input wat do i do

  • Windows 7 doesn't like to accept this. The TV doesn't like to show up.I think I need a new GFX card.

  • I have an analog TV and bought a cable that had a 7-pin S-video (which goes to the PC) to RCA (which goes to the TV) cable. When I switch the properties to dual screen, I can see the desktop on the TV, but it flickers then goes to black as if its not getting signal. Any help is appreciated.

My video card is Nvidia 8600GT and TV is a 27" Panasonic analog.

  • From my experience, I have found that the problem is coming from the cord. Try fiddling with the cord, push it in a little or or pull it out a little and try it out. Or you may need a whole new cord. But I would rec a svideo to svideo cord. It always seems to do the trick with me. hth

  • @fatenshehadeh Well, tried fiddling with it. Didn't work. I'd hate to have to get a new cord. Also, whenever I change the resolution on the analog TV, it flickers with the desktop. So close, I can taste it, but it turns to black again. This is why it leads me to believe its a resolution problem. Signal is transmitting.

  • @maddog015 listen to the video, dont use dual view, use clone.

  • sweet voice good information.

  • Ya use the audio cables

  • If required, use an Audio Cinch-Adapter.

I am using it myself that way.

  • Thanks for the vid. Very helpful! And btw queenofhartz u suck! This lady's voice is hot! lol i could listen to her all day!

  • i already know how to do this and alot of other stuff with my laptop but it was on my recommended for u page so i looked at this and thought...

    HOLY CRAP ur a girl!!

i just didnt expect that lol

  • Why wouldn't you expect a woman to know this?

I've been upgrading my computers, taking them apart and working on the systems from the early 90s and I'm a 59 year old woman.

    Are you from the 50s?

  • yah amazing how its not just sweaty basement nerds who know about computers...amazing...

  • What if I want to get a television signal on my computer? The TV is crap, but I have a fairly decent computer with a 24 inch high def monitor.

  • than why would you want to watch it on a crappy tv screen if you had a big HD monitor?

  • SO can i play Crisis with my PC using my TV instead of a monitor?

  • Im wondering too, Is the quality crap? Or is it great?

  • yes the tv will just act as a monitor instead of your normal monitor

  • what do i click if i have vista?

  • Go to your desktop, click Personalize>Display Settings, and chose your desired monitor, it should say 1 and 2 like the video, click on "2" (if thats your TV) and click below it "this is my main monitor" and it should switch. Hope that helps

  • The audio on this vid is so low we can't hear it even with volume turned all the way up.

  • A what video port?

  • well umm what if you don't have gforce thing AND you don't have the nview display settings??? please messege or somment back if you would know

  • Well, I know each computer is different, but if you play around with it, I'm sure you'll get it.

  • You probably have an ATI card. Almost all of the ATI drivers have a tool built in for this, just click on the display tab and highlight your TV, I think that's how it works, all my graphics cards are Nvida.

  • You absolutely, positively have to have an S vid port on your pc? Isn't there a hookup that adds a svid port?

  • Thank you i have been struggling trying to figure this out on my own! Very helpful

  • It would be nice if you spoke to be heard and the video wasnt so long as its not necessary to be so long. Can barely hear you.

  • I would of loved for the audio in the video to be louder, but I used Camstudio and for some reason that was the loudest I can get my audio to record on my PC. Sorry, it was unintentional.

  • the reason i want to do this is because my monitor does not show red and other colors look dull do you know anyway to fix this?

  • videos show up black on my tv. I can watch videos on the internet, but with vlc, windows media player, and quicktime the video shows up black. The window for it shows up, but the video doesn't. Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • ummm the cord you showed...is that s-video? cause i always thought that that was coxial connection..."the tube with the screw" and real "Standard definition" TV was through component video cables..."yellow white and red plug thingies" and that s-video was just like component cables only they looked slightly different help plz

  • Hi there, I just inherited a really old TV that only has a scart output. What kind of cabling do I need to connect it to my PC? My PC is running a Geforce 8600GT with a free s-video and dvi-i port. Many thanks!

  • Thank you very much. This was very helpful

  • thanks it help me alot. :) no i can play counter strike on the big screen

  • I hooked my s-video up, and the screen flickers. Someone told me it may be because of the refresh rate. But I can't change that.

  • thank you

    you helped me so much.

    i Frikin love you tube

  • after the screen blacks out, it reappears with the "reconfigured" part and I clicked yes -- I still can't find the write video. I tried fixing the s-video cord (thinking that it was loose or something) but still nothing happened. what did I do wrong? (I have an HP Pavilion Special Edition) -- is it because of my laptop, or tv? :/

  • my screen comes up black and white, how do i fix this?

  • OK this happens all the time. You need to make sure the svideo is connected correctly. No broken pins, and it has to be tight.

    hth

  • You don't specifically state what type of cable that headphone to RCA is; what shall we ask for at the store to find that wire?

  • it is black and white on my tv how to i see the colour?

  • see above

  • would it work

  • Thank you very much. I mangaged to watch with audio. Wonderful. Enjoying movies etc.

  • Is it possible to make the volume come out of the TV instead of the laptop? if u know how to do this, let me know.

  • Well yeah in the video if you watch it I show ya the cord you need to hook up to your tv and laptop. Watch it. Easier then me explaining

  • Thanks for video. I did as you said. black and white Picture came on tv in three columes and flickering. Where did I go wrong? pls. help.

  • Try it again, remove the cables then reinsert them, and make sure you are on the right TV video channel on the TV

  • THanks...out of all the videos this one was more helpful..the other were stupid.. its just that we dont have the same card as you, so we are still having problems with actually connecting it to the tv. we have all the cables but hard to set the properties..thanks!

  • Will I require TV card?

Most people say that only AGP or VGA card is not enough. to watch TV I need a special TV card?

  • nope just as long as you have the inputs onthe tv and pc then your set, just play around with the properties

  • great video it helped me a lot, thank you so much!

  • What Operating System do you use?

  • what happend when after u go to setting and there no 2 monitor display, only one, cause someone please help, im stuck here.

  • Make sure the tv and pc are connected before you go to that screen. And if so use a different S vid wire cause it might just be a bad wire.

  • Thanks, I was looking for a way to get sound then I saw that cable and I was like duh. =P Thanks again.

  • you're funny

  • Hdmi is more simple and easy. 1 cable and video/audio is linked to your tv.

  • That's not true when connecting your TV to your PC. A PC's video card does not produce the sound signal so you will still need to run another cable for audio. HDMI is a better solution though, but only works if you have an HDTV.

  • does anhyone have msn!!! msg me jane24belle

  • my pc has vga but my tv has s-video!

  • dident get it but u got a sexy voice lol
