  • gpxo11 Everything I checked that you said (cause that's how I roll!) was a lie! Our ratings are #1 in both half hrs - Barker was never dismissed from Holly’s lawsuit - & more lies, all lies. You wasted my time. You come here and lie & say mean things to people, you're probably Bob Barker! I know him & he is a despicable old man which is why people@ Price hated him and are happy he was retired. Good riddance to you both!

  • @lingaild I think you might be right, I think gpxo might just be Bob Barker, or someone who works for him. I didn't watch that show but we did study the lawsuits in class so I know that most of what this guy says is bullsh*t, it's like deliberately convoluted. But it's exactly the same BS I saw BB say in the media, "he didn't pay, he didn't lose, he wanted to fight the lawsuits but the netwrok settled" all BS. Bob Barker is a mega liar and so is this gpxo. Might just be 1 in the same.

  • You seem to think CBS has never had a lawsuit before. To put it simply Lingalid, your statement is nothing but conjecture and is fantasy based due to no facts to support it-but it seems that's how your side rolls

Out for good unless I'm disrupted again two years down the road.

  • Finally TPIR has lost considerable ad revenue and ratings since Bob retired-it's no longer the money making machine it once was. It continually gets beaten by The View in ratings and sometimes even the fourth hour of the Today Show. If CBS was truly money motivated, they would have done everything in their power to retain Bob-the ratings and Bob's continued star power despite the lawsuits reflect this. Only Bob's would be damaged-not the show or network. CBS would survive regardless.

  • Settlements were not paid outright-there was a long process involved in each case-the simple reason there was no trial is because the plaintiffs could not prove their allegations against Bob. the process in each case backs that statement up.The lawsuit that first included CBS was the easiest to dispute of all since Bob nor this lady was ever in the same building.

  • The lawsuit I'm referring to in my previous post was for Sylvia clement Henry. Deborah Curling filed her lawsuit in October 2007 and Shane stirling also filed a lawsuit after Bob retired. Anyway your premise concerning CBS is flawed because even if one of the previous 7 lawsuits went to trial the show and CBS would suffer the same fate. when Bob retired the public had made up their minds concerning him due to the incessant tabloid coverage the previous ten years prior to bob's announcement,

  • particular was easily and quickly, for the most part, resolved. CBS was involved because that is who this lady worked for not Freemantle.

  • After looking up each lawsuit, I have to commend lingalid, it is true that CBS was not one of the defendants as I previously stated in my post, sorry for any confusion that may have caused-however as I mentioned in a post long ago-it is extremely rare that a lawsuit goes to trial-it's a long process-CBS being in a lawsuit had nothing to do with Bob "going away." I can assure you it was Bob's decision-CBS did not force him out as some falsely perceive-this lawsuit in...

  • correction-see I'm not so proud as to not post a mistake I've made-the lawsuit mentioned was not after Bob had left but was filed in October 2006-however again the lady in question did not come in contact with Bob while doing her job so her lawsuit was eventually dismissed exonerating Bob.

  • With that in mind, I am dome with my "rant" of reason, Have a nice life.

  • By providing credible sources all along in which to seek those answers, I feel that I more than made my case for Mr. Barker's LEGAL exoneration-morally may be another question-but that comes with whatever perspective you have. I am not knocking anyone's personal position-yes including MTW's-you may choose to believe what you want-but you need to back up your statements and not do a ggogle search in panic mode-see something online that;s official looking and pass it off as a final decision...

  • contacting the other source-Mr. Barker's business manager will answer the question if Bob ever paid out any financial settlement. What's sad is MTY's post two days ago in which he is adamant about bob having "lost" and that no one's interested anymore. If that is so MTY would not have disturbed me a week ago with his baseless assumption. By not following up on the two sources I have provided speaks volumes of his ignorance in not wanting to seek or know the truth. ..

  • FYI- you won't be able to find the State Supreme Court document by doing a google search which is why I provided the Utah Park Record source as an alternate option. The story is still on their website in their library search but a fee is needed for the complete story. Please don't conclude your findings by reading the first two lines and stating your conclusions as you've done with the 165008 ruling of which is painfully obvious to me,MTY can't decipher...

  • Lingalid-the most recent suit you refer to was filed AFTER Bob left the company from an employee who did not work at the same facility as Mr. barker. She was responsible for lining up advertisers for the show-her office was elsewhere-so the charge of Bob creating a "hostile work environment" is false. If you are referring to the Claudia Jordan lawsuit, the principle party was producer Frank Wayne who was terminated immediately.

  • @gpxo11 That should be Phil wayne rossi-not Frank Wayne-my bad.

  • I gave you both all the information you need including two sources-I can't help it those of you are too stupid or lazy to follow that information or too much of a chicken to give Mr. Barker's business manager a call or at the very least contact the Utah Park city Record newspaper and ask for the 10-1-05 article. I've put up quite a bit-you both had over TWO YEARS before an e-mail came my way espousing your foolish opinions-but I expect that from a couple of louts.

  • @gpxo11 You keep saying that “all provisions against Bob were dropped” but you won’t supply the page numbers. You said “read the rulings on the LA Superior Court” but its not there. So then you said it’s in the Court of Appeals ruling. But no, not there either. So next you say it’s the "CA SUPREME Court of Appeals". Alas gpxo, no such ruling there either. C’mon dude, put up or shut up. Quit wasting our time with these ranting attempts at misdirect. PAGE NUMBERS PLEASE.

  • @gpxo11 Hey man - Give mtwylhk the page numbers...PLEASE. (I have been all over this lawsuit and I can’t find any ruling dropping all provisions against Barker either.) Give him the page numbers and be done with this.

  • @MTWyldhk Give the guy a break. You know he’s never gonna cite case & page because you know there is no such ruling. But that’s not gonna stop gpxo from posting pages of rants, and you’re not gonna convince him otherwise. Bottom line, IMO lingaild nailed it. Those lawsuits could never go to trial because people would find out that Bob Barker is really a d**k in real life & it would kill TPIR. Regardless of who paid & who didn’t, Barker lost, Holly got millions & no ones interested anymore!

  • One last thing for those who have access to the Utah Park Record newspaper-Holly's HOMETOWN paper-there is an article concerning the lawsuit settlement. In that article-it ALSO STATES that ALL provisions against Bob in Holly's lawsuit were dropped before a settlement was reached. 10-1-2005

  • that she and those that support her have no credibility whatsoever in the eyes of many. I hope that those who wish to post in the future will think, do a little research

and not rely on tabloids or E Entertainment to sway your opinion-seek the truth not gotcha moments you'll sleep better.

  • Speaking of B165008 which addresses HOLLY's defense of weight being the issue she was fired-after reading this go to the youtube video of her interview on the Today Show where on national TV she lies to the public stating that the weight issue was Bob's defense-which of course is not true especially once you read that document. It also points out in that document Bob's reasoning for the company to let Hallstrom go and that is due to economic downsizing-it is because of Holly's statement ...

  • source except for B0b hiimself to know, In the final ruling and decision which was in September 2005-the last remaining provisions-allegations concerning Bob were dropped (case dismissed in September 9, 2005). Bob was no longer liable for any damages-a call to his business manager would confirm that. I begged him on my posts to stop but he persisted in trying to find a gotcha moment of which he is now his own victim.

  • Now this is where the true homework and research pays off-you need to KNOW which allegations-provisions pertain to whom-the ruling is not going to tell you that. You need to KNOW which ones pertain to Barker, which to Freemantle, which to All american. Price productions etc-I knew from MTWyldehk's comments that he wouldn't have a clue which is why I gave him an easy out-contact information for Mr. Barker's business manager who handles ALL of his financial transactions-he would be the ultimate...

  • scroll up to the date of December 30, 2004 and you'll notice that the defendants (that being Freemantle and Barker's lawyers among others) file an appeal to the California State SUPREME Court-it is this ruling that is final. I will not give out this case number as I've provided enough homework to get those TRULY interested in the truth to seek it out themselves. Once you find the ruling, you'll notice a DIFFERENT case number as it's a ruling from a DIFFERENT court...

  • To be certain that I don't have to deal with this issue in another two years. I ask those interested in finding the truth instead of gotcha moments of which I was subjected to recently to go to the LA Superior Court dot gov website, click on case summaries, type in the case number bc237524. Scroll down to Sept. 9, 2004 and you'll see the B165008 lower court appellate decision publish date now...

  • Also scroll down to the heading of "depostion" at the bottom in this appeal decision (again lower court) and you'll see what charges were taken out of her lawsuit and those charges that were to remain (mostly Freemantle) at this point-the case was sent back to arbitration where the few remaining Barker provisions were dropped-then sent back to appeals court in which she was awarded her jury trial on the remaining points.

  • For those interested the B165008 referred to in the lower appeals court in the case is found online at lexicon website which refers to the Hallstrom one case (Holly would refile another case later changing the weight gain defense to supporting Dian in her sexual harrassment case. If you scroll to the bottom of the page you'll notice the decision of the appellate court going with the trial court case decision thus ending Hallstrom I. This was not the final ruling as claimed by MYWyldhk.

  • @gpxo11 Correction that should be the lexisone dot com website

  • @gpxo I think that the real reason that none of the lawsuits against Bob Barker ever went to trial is simple. The network knew that in real life Bob Barker was a nasty old bas***d and that if even 1 of the lawsuits went to trial, then America would find out and that would tank the money making Price Is Right. So settlements were paid and the lawsuits went away. But then came a lawsuit that actually involved the network, and after that, Bob Barker went away.

  • @lingaild Not true as all the lawsuits involved the network as plaintiffs. All the lawsuits were in litigation for at least a year or more (in Holly's case-more than 10) until all provisions against Bob etc were dropped from the case.

  • @gpxo11 Hey does anyone here know if this is true? I worked there and we always heard that the network was leaving the problems of the lawsuits to the production company UNTIL one dragged the network in, and especially because it was about the racism, and that's when they said "Bob, you're retiring." Is it true that all the lawuits involved CBS?

  • @lingaild No its not true. Nothing gpxo said is true (he is completely confused, or he's trying to rewrite the facts and hoping no one notices). The first 7 women who sued Barker all worked for the production company, so their suits were against Barker & the company. The most recent suit was by a woman who was employed by CBS. You were correct, that was the first time CBS was named in any of Barker's suits. You can go online & see the names of plaintiffs on the first page of every lawsuit. .

  • @lingaild Not true at all. Everything gpxo11 has said is TOTAL BS, all lies. And someone definitely needs to up his dose --17 postings in 1day! Point of order; not all the women sued Barker, HE sued Hallstrom and when he lost, he fired a bunch of people including Janice Penington, because he didn't like the way they testified. Hallstrom counter sued Barker and got millions. And yes, after 7 women had sued him, the suit you referenced was the first time CBS was ever included as a defendant.

  • @lingaild Sorry I meant CBS were also defendants in all the lawsuits as were all the companies that owned Price at one time or another as well as many more including Roger Dobkowitz.

  • @torcfg Wrong? You said it was the court of appeals that supposedly dropped all provisions against Bob but granted Hallstrom a jury trial. I am looking at the court of appeals rulings but there's nothing like what you claim in here. I would think if, BIG if, that what you're saying were true you'd be eager to cite that. So if it's not actually in the final court of appeals ruling case #B165008, where is it?

  • Comment removed

  • @torcgf It's a good thing you left, if you really did, because you are not going to like what I found on the Court of Appeal's ruling (BTW you're wrong, the CA Supreme Court of Appeal never addressed any Barker provisions ---see I do my homework!). Anyway when ruling in Holly's favor, the court described Barker's defense as "...a sham created to cover defendants’ true motives for terminating Hallstrom."! OMG! (Aren't you glad you convinced me to read it?! Now you should read it too.)

  • @MTWyldhk No I deleted my accounts to get away from known liars such as yourself who continually wasted my time with false information like the above-it's obvious to me you never called my source nor did you read the report. I fully stand by my original statement of Bob not paying any settlement to any of the plaintiffs. You did not do any homework-I pretty much did it for you. You provided no source or case number-continually giving false info. Case closed. Your e-mails will not be answered.

  • @MTWyldhk Incidentally the case number of B165008 was for Halstrom 1 case not Hallstrom 2 moron.

  • @MTWyldhk Incidentally the report you are supposedly reading ( if I really believe that youi are)is Holly's allegations she made for her appeal that she sent to the lower appeals court-not the ruling.

  • @MTWyldhk Also FYI the other case you cited bc140407 was Bob's slander suit against Hallstrom of which B165008 drew from which she included in her appeal report. So you weren't even close to the main lawsuit from which everything stemmed from.

  • @torcfg TITLED: IN THE COURT OF APPEAL IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA -SECOND APPELLATE DISTRICT - DIVISION SEVEN - B165008

B165008 -Just like I told ya! So c'mon dude, come up with those page numbers!

  • @torcfg /gpxo C'mon, still waiting. You gave me 14 minutes, I guess I can wait another 4.

  • @torcfg /gpxoB165008

(Los Angeles County Super. Ct. No. BC140407)

So how 'bout those page numbers?

  • @torcfg /gpxo PS. I'm reading the Court of Appeals ruling right now and I can't find where it says they dropped all provisions against Bob but gave Hallstrom a jury trial, as you claim. Can you please give me page number(s)?

  • @torcfg/gpxo Wow! So all you have to do is get Bob Barker's business manager's contact info off a website & call him & he discusses Bob's personal financial information with you? Wow, that's good to know. I'll get back to you on that!

Also thanks for the heads up about big companies settling lawsuits out of court to avoid trials. So all anyone has to do is file suit against a major company and they'll write you a check? Good tip in this economy!

    C'mon Dude, quit blowin' smoke.

  • @torcfg/gpxo Why don't YOU actually read the court rulings so then you can show everyone here the part that details exactly who paid all those MILLION$ of dollars in settlements to the women to drop their cases against Bob Barker. (Hint; There is no such accounting in the court rulings! ;)

Or you can answer the original question; When you post that 'Bob never paid a cent' where are you getting your information? (Or are you just making that up too?)

  • @torcfg You need to go online and read the Court of Appeals ruling. Holly settled because Barker paid her MILLION$ of dollars to drop her suit. Also all provisions are dropped against EVERYONE because it's a settlement! And huge companies like Fremantle don't settle lawsuits unless they're going to lose. That's what they have a staff of lawyers for, to fight & discourage future lawsuits. How do you know how much Barker's spent paying off all those women? Do you have a forsensic accounting?

  • @gpxo Actually the lawsuits never went to trial because the women were paid big out of court settlements to drop their suits. People who aren't guilty DON'T spend millions to settle out of court unless they know they're going to lose. In a settlement all provisions against EVERYBODY are dropped. That's why it's called a settlement.

  • Bob Barker irritated me. I found him too take. Just sayin....

  • You got to be inspierd to wante to make game show just like hime he was amzing and he had a lot of heart to keep doing the show for a long time and he is truly a great man

  • @buckyew2 hahahahahhaha start sucking then, just dont choke.

  • Bob Barker gave fans something to enjoy.

  • I used to watch the price is right with my mom but not anymore since bob barker left ;(

  • @pieguy123ful I agree, the show ain't the same since the late 1990's. It just went downhill when they retired lots of the original games and brought in weird new ones. And now it's even worst. Too much glamor on the set. Too many colors and it's giving you more of a headache than anything else.

  • Bob, you thank us for 35 wonderful years.

We thank you for taking us with you along the way.

  • Bob Barker had class, style, showmanship and proffessionalism.

He should deffinatly come back for one more show, but this time he should be a contestant! that would be awesome!

  • @EagleOnTheRhine nice idea, but how about THIS one? : have a special show where Bob Barker hosts the first half, then a little ceremony where Drew Carey comes onto the show, & Bob "passes the torch" (the microphone) over 2 Drew, & have Drew finish hosting that show.....i think that would b a very smooth transition between the 2 hosts

  • bob barker is the man

  • No, Bob, thank YOU for all the wonderful memories! Thank YOU for being my first television idol! Thank YOU for being one of the things that made summer vacations good: Because I wasn't in school, so I got to watch the Price is Right (this is before we had DVRs). Thank YOU for being the one, the only, THE Bob Barker!

  • I want him to host again sometime

  • gotta miss bob

  • Wow this is so sad :( gosh i wish he come back to visit or somthing. i want to see his face but hes right tho hes bin doing alot of it for that much years so i has to rest and so hes getting old :( i miss him alot

  • miss you bob

  • I know somebody that worked at CBS. They believe that Barker was guilty of the harassment.

  • Really? You sure don't know much about Bob Barker.

  • Once again, to all those who think he died: NOT REALITY...at least not yet.

  • Yeah, he's still with us, but where is he exactly?

  • He's still active in animal rights..and from what I've heard, he'll make a guest appearance on TPIR in April.

  • he is not dead. morons

  • Bob Barker

    born December 12, 1923

Occupation Retired TV Presenter and Game Show Host (1956-2007)

Robert William "Bob" Barker (born December 12, 1923) is a 19 time Emmy Award-winning former television game show host. He is best known for hosting CBS's The Price Is Right from 1972 to 2007, making it the longest-running daytime game show in North American television history. After holding the job for 35 years and having been in television for 50 years, he retired in June 2007.

  • He is NOT! So drop it!

  • Agreed! And until we hear it from a ligimate source, such as CBS News, we'll consider this rumor as FALSE.

  • In his world animals have rights but people who worked on his show don't . Look at all the sexual harassment lawsuits.

  • Bob Barker's a great host!! i really enjoyed the price is right !!

  • Bob, You are truly a wonderful man! Although Drew Carey has taken your place on television, no one can ever take your place in our hearts! May you have a nice, long, happy retirement and enjoy the rest of your life to the very fullest! We'll miss you, Bob. God Bless!

  • @patrickballoonman Agreed great message Bobby. To dear fans of you AND the Game Show Network.

  • Bob Barker, have a happy and nice long retirement.

  • He's NOT DEAD IDIOT!! U should watch da news more to get things straight!!!!!

  • he's not dead idiot!

if he were dead, we would've heard about it so quit spreading your shit around....

where did you even hear that he was dead?

or do you just like spreading rumors b/c you're the only one saying he's dead.

must be lonely to live in wacko land.

  • We will all miss you very much. Hope you have a nice long retirement.

  • He's still fucking alive, he just retired from 'The Price is Right'.

  • Hey, Bob:

When I worked at CBS (1995) I would walk on the stage when it was dark, grab your mike and so a killer impression of you and Rod! I miss Rod. He was one of the friendliest people there. So down to earth.

Good luck. My pets? Spayed and neutered , of course!

  • I'll miss you Bobby, thank you for 35 years of Price is Right. =( =)

  • :'( If they get a new host for the price is right, no one is gonna watch. Cause there's no one like Bob Barker with his michrophone that still has a cord and 'control the pet population. have your pets spayed or neutured.' tear tear.

  • @sonicroxandGL "WHY?!?!?!" Because he's been sued by EIGHT women he worked with. Does that tell you something about the REAL Bob Barker?
