because its the remake of the old movie neelathamara which was released in 70's. The script is written by MT vasudevan nair. Direction: lal jose. song lyrics by vayalar sharth varma...! A lot of talented people worked behind this movie. Hero and heroin did a great job even though this is their first movie. This song became very popular! I guess all these factors made this movie very popular!
