  • They came here. They came to my city last year.. and I didn't go. I'm not kidding when I tell you BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE, and believe me I've commited lots of mistakes, but now i'll never see LCD Soundsystem live. Ever. Fuck.

  • Every time I hear this intro, I feel like I'm about to go on an insane roller coaster ride.

  • i like how it keeps getting awesomer each verse and never stops

  • the lyrics are probably the most brilliant of any song from the last decade. If the music was as good as the lyrics this would be the best song ever.

  • @shauno5166 I think it fits the song pretty well... kind of a mantra-esque rhythm that's reminiscent of the minimalistic 80's groups he names, growing in intensity as the narrator's own insecurity becomes more evident and he becomes more crazed, culminating in his simply shouting out the names of the bands that he uses to define himself as "cool".

  • @Champiness yeah I think it fits the song well too, and i also think its pretty good music just it doesnt live up to the brilliant lyrics

  • @Champiness it's base on the Killing Joke's "Change", yet another genius meta-hip reference

  • @ivexeg Thanks.. I'd never listened to song by or heard of Killing Joke until now. Just listened to Change... definitely a huge influence on this song.

  • Jimi Hendrix

  • hip before it was hip looked up the sonics because of this song "there actually really good".

  • 6 dont have an edge!!!

  • pitchfork sucks but they fucking got it perfect when they said " If the songs on this list were chosen solely by how they captured the zeitgeist in independent music, "Losing My Edge" would be an easy #1.

  • this song has taught me more than school.

  • Wait... Was he there?

  • I wish i was there for can

  • This song captures how i feel at times, but then i remember that kids these days don't know shit about what i know.

  • @jasonbigelow

aw, thanks for noticing - i think its quite cute too

  • " I was there at the first Can show" Lol.

  • borrowed nostalgia for the unremembered 80's. I know so many people like this...

  • The man knows his history, and that's why I like this song.

  • This...

This just snapped me out of everything.

  • There is one no vote from someone who wasn't there.

  • I was there when Ronan Keating turned on the Blackpool lights.

    I was there.

  • Best tune they have done, in my opinion.

Left my original 12" of this in a club *(

  • When I'm forty years old I can't wait to show this song to all those young bastards who think they know what music is.. Sad to say.. I'm one of of those bastards right now.. Internet seeking.

  • @mrrobotrain hey at least we have this awesome interweb thing :) how fucking great is this we can go online find people who's opinion we respect see what albums and songs they recommend then go to youtube type and listen to it no purchase necessary...

excuse me for a second (goes to make love to the machine)

  • @alexgillespie1

Totally agreed... but it's those who fail to recognize the fact that they're not of the generation their parents/grandparents are from... they can really piss a guy off.

  • Killing Joke "Change" (1980) - 2:15 -->

  • Dude, he was at the first Can show! I've never listened to them but I know their music is good. ;)

  • The Can reference at 1:08 is appropriate on multiple levels.

    Cool and funny song.

  • This is relevant.

  • is he sampling daft punk - da funk around the 4:40 mark?

  • @johnnyBuz72 it's similar but :) but that sound is all-around the music

  • This track is very relevant.

  • I was there.

  • this is such a sick song

  • Comment removed

  • @CheckVerb Is that all you can grasp from his sound? I mean I don't expect some long spree of rhetoric wherein you attach some form of idolatry to the music but at least don't make baseless assumptions where you can judge what is and is not funny. It's amazing how much knowledge you presume.

  • @NeasNihil overblown rhetoric makes you look like a cunt.

    Song is amazing, btw.

  • Because you know that's what's important...not looking like a cunt...it's nice of you to acknowledge your own existence though (not that I care but a good effort nonetheless)...hopefully it (and this response) will get you through the day...

  • @CheckVerb You missed the point of the song. Check out the lyrics and see what he's trying to say. Your welcome.

  • Holy shit! He was there!

  • Bloody awesome track...

  • Love this band. : )
