For me the very best song for Sweden in the contest. He really should have won. I don't understand why the juries in 1984, 1991 and 1999 gave the victory to average swedish song and the juries in 1992, 1995, 1996( just to mention these 3) didn't notice the masterpieces Sweden sent to the contest!!

@JiGe96 LOL yes for swedes it sounds similar. I am Dutch myself and I can show you there's a lot of different between Dutch and German but there's also similarities ofcourse. Dutch sounds a bit more 'soft' than German (German sounds so 'commanding'). I say this in english cause my svensk is bad ;P (I know quite a lot of words but to make sentences is a whole lot more difficult)

I sure wanted this to win at the time, it was such a misfortune that two of the greatest scandanavian entries were up against each other in the same year. Now I see that Nocturne was the rightful winner tho I had an anti Irish feeling growing in me at the time and it put me a little off Norways heavily influenced masterpiece.

@pimmagrimm Ireland's winning did really made the people lose interess in the show during the 90s ... but I still feel some of the most well crafted songs came from this decade more styles were present there was a bit more seriousness in delievering a real show where music was the focus saddly times changed as technologies changed our lives and our appreciation for certain things and so did eurovision from a musical show to an entertainment show with no real substance for the most part :(

@Mycenaea he got the job because he is a very talented televion presenter etc. he misbehaved when he was giving votes as the jury person that appears when Netherlands had to give their votes. Actually not during this intro to Jan Johansen's song. He just pronounces swedish words very wrong (most of that is on purpose) and he keeps hanging about a dutch phrase 'ten allen tijde'. he keeps saying that because the first time he mispronounced it (his own language :P). It means 'for always'.
