Due to budget cuts in the 1990s to national defense it became apparent that the best way to quickly get people into security roles that meet the standard of the US military was to employ those former service men who are employed with Blackwater now. The logistical support of these forces is already in place and not with the US military which is why re hiring them wasn't an option. Sure Ideally you would have everyone as a solider but you don't. The thing that akes me angriest about this blackwater fiasco is that the mercenaries are making many times more money than our troops. Take that Blackwater money and spend it on increased pay benefits and medical care for our troops. One of the reason why American soldiers are attacked in Irak is in part because of the hate that private soldiers activities produce. This private soldiers respond only to private interests and will carry their mission no matter what, including killing anybody that look a bit suspicious to their eyes. Yup :( The best things we can do now are focus on reforming our(the peoples) government through the next election process by picking an upright president that listens, and second making sure we get the word out as much as possible about whats happening and that there is still hope but we ALL have to act. Presidential candidates I personally like: Mike Grave(D), David Kecinich(D), and of course Ron Paul(R). Dont fall for the "mainstream" same-old-same-old president candidates.

Respect Blue... I'm sorry for the weight you are carrying... I'm also sorry that we (The UK) followed Bush into this pointless nighmare... Those of us that were against this war, weren't just sounding off... Even on the most basic practical level, it was never going to work... It's a shame 90% of humanity can't think beyond their own fear and ignorance.

By the way, those of us who keep up online,knew all about blackwater 2 yrs ago, and the fact they've been paid more in a wk then our soldiers make in a yr, and it's all our tax money, plus they outnumber our guys. amazing all the things amer don't know about what's really going on in washington. going to make this my blog post 2day, having a helluva time getting new version of galleon to work.
