If a pat down failed to detect a bomber, they would pull out the floppy disk with the pat down: all the textures felt, bulges etc could be re-experienced with some kind of interface. No need for that right? Secondly if the images were stored but all the lay persons don't have anyway of retrieving the images then as far airport security goes the images aren't stored.
@flierumph The image is stored only if there is a necessity for evidence purposes, a scanning tech has to trap the file in order for that to happen. The file isn't a simple JPG, it's a full-sized TIF image that clocks in at about 2gb per side. You could never, ever, EVER store that much data on every traveller forever.

RADIATION POISONING...does that get your attention? Those scanners utilize backscatter radiation in a wave length that only touches the skin, not passing through as a normal lab xray does. Several PHDs and physicists have written a document and signed it, sent it to the TSA stating that the scanners are dangerous to any women post breast or lymph cancer, children pre puberty and all people with any form of pre cancer skin problems. The machines have not been sufficiently tested long term.

Enough of everyone whining about "being seen naked" or being "touched inappropriately" If terrorists brought down another plane, everyone would be complaining that enough wasn't done. I have an implant in my knee and am pat down or scanned every time I fly...it's really no big deal to insure our safety. If you don't want to go through the security, then don't fly!

If a pat down failed to detect a bomber, they would pull out the floppy disk with the pat down: all the textures felt, bulges etc could be re-experienced with some kind of interface. No need for that right? Secondly if the images were stored but all the lay persons don't have anyway of retrieving the images then as far airport security goes the images aren't stored.

@flierumph The image is stored only if there is a necessity for evidence purposes, a scanning tech has to trap the file in order for that to happen. The file isn't a simple JPG, it's a full-sized TIF image that clocks in at about 2gb per side. You could never, ever, EVER store that much data on every traveller forever.

Id rather get stripped searched virtually by a person in a locked room rather then stripped search the old fashion way. And that isnt enough i'd rather get stripped searched then bombed on a plane because they chose not to do the search. IM just saying i value my life alot more then this safety i mean like. Comparison, between The Stupid Agency, and Japanese security at Narita was night and day. They are more detailed, clearly better trained, and more customer service oriented. another failed example of the U.S. federal gov't.

actually it was just discovered in florida they were storing some of these photos so they CAN be stored and if inverted these photos look like normal pictures keep looking and youll find the inverted photo that looks like a completely naked girl with her arms out
