After you listen to modern interpretations and then listen to this, it almost sounds as if the music is crying; you clearly feel the difference. Definitely better.
Please do not sully this beautiful work by being a douche. If you're honestly bothered by 7 letters on a computer screen that weren't even directed at you, you're probably a cunt. It's safe to say Mozart would agree.
Whilst I agree, you cannot, with any measurable confidence, proceed to the notion that Mozart would. 1)he's been dead since 1791 2)he was of a different culture and 3) you're not Mozart. :)
yes most definitely. But I think it depends on what you're playing. Anything before Beethoven HAS to be on one of these beauties. Anything from Liszt or beyond is same-old, same-old on any modern piano
This is most likely a reproduction of the 1780's Walter fortepiano that belonged to Mozart. And yes, I much prefer to hear these works performed on authentic instruments.
Joking and not... :) Some people confuse the sound of the period fortepiano sometimes with old (but modern) upright pianos often found at schools. They say that it sounds like the piano at their school! :)
Well, I mean that the thumb thing is stupid, why can't people just tell me what's wrong with my comment... but NO they hide behind the woman's skirt, well.. the thumb....
The best Mozart's piano movment ever!

Best movement in the concerto and this is probably the best sounding performance I've heard before.

Really beautiful, the strings add a touch of dramatism I haven't really found on other works of Mozart :)

Although I am agreat admirer of Malcolm Bilson, for me the Melvyn Tan/Norrington rendition of this movement (and indeed whole concerto) is superior.

@DecayedForest True, but the message is still valid. There is no need to make a comment on a video like this if you're bothered by the word.

Old school pianos always sound great

Much nicer than modern ones no?

Indeed. Sounds a bit...rustic, more organic.
Many thanks for uploading. :)

Those are ALL "old school" instruments, not just the piano.

@rkwittem
You mean "old school" (i.e. period) pianos, or old "school pianos" (i.e. pianos used at schools)? :)
jnamadeus 1 year ago
@jnamadeus I assume you're joking. in case you're not, I mean period instrument pianos.

This has to be my favorite movement of any of Mozart's piano concerti. It's simply gorgeous.

I agree wholeheartedly. When I heard this movement for the first time I was blown away ...

I also agree. Amazinnggggg movement
corwinofamber8 2 years ago
It fits so well with that picture, I've always seen this piece like that...
The piano sounds like a bird (06:19->) singing in solitude... an evening or a night.... fading away...
like my childhood.... hm?
