thanks for what you have showed so far, but how do you smooth everything out, like, im trying to make a logo, and ive tryed feathering it but it looks weird, and ive tryed to erase it off my self, but it doesnt look smooth...help?
Could you walk us through making our own dvd covers, and possibly ebook covers? I think I can do it, it's just i'm not sure of the deminsions and how to make the spine in the middle. And what to save it in as a template to reuse. Also what to save it in to upload it to a website. reldas11
Superb suite of tutorials. I find the mix of demonstration and explanation very clear. From my perspective, it would be nice to have some defintion of what a 'PATH' is, how it differs from a layer and how it relates to a layer.

Your accent makes it pretty much impossible for an american to make out what you say sometimes. Like the site you said to go to to get the bleeding cowboy fonts? How's about putting it in writing and flashing it up on the screen once. it would do away with a lot of confusion. Thanks . Overall great job.
hi, please I am needing some help (my gimp is not saving the path shape I keep saving it and importing it to scribus to make the text flow around the path but notghin and when entering to the image file then can see the gimp has not saved and path the paths box keeps empty..
you can't select something then save the image and open it up with the selection still there. Do what you need to do with the selection before you save it.
Actually you can save the image with a selection. When you have made a selection go select->save into a channel or something like that, I don't know what it's called in English. Then just save the image as .xcf and when you open it again the selection is still there.
Hey man, your one geeza^^ Your brilliant. Finally some one not scared of their own voice^^ you explained it 100% well. Your voice makes me laugh pure British :D (good way) Cheers man, good tut. I will check others out ^^ Ty :D5/5
I am a little bit lost when you said "create a black background aswell" ... the think is that I don;t know how to do that!!! I really like yuor tutorial style that you explain abslutely everthing, maybe you just forgot this small step! :)
Thanks for your videos, very well made, very professional.
All I did was create a new layer and filled it in black using the bucket fill tool, nothing fancy or complicated. (I assume you mean at 2:08 on the video?)
The layer doesn't appear to change because it was the lower layer I made black.
I'm just waiting for my response to you to upload...I think the problem stems from using an older version of the gimp. You are doing nothing wrong...it's your old gimp's fault!

Call me slow, but I can't figure out how to get rid of the marching ants once I've stroked the path.

ctrl+shift+A will "deselect all" and remove the ants.

By now I watch almost all your videos!
Thank you very much.

Great job. Thank you!
One thing: I think you can stroke a selection without converting it first to a path, by Edit menu and then Stroke Selection...
