Thanks for making this video! I am looking into buying my first digital keyboard now that I am making decent amounts of money and living away from home (and consequently my real piano).
@Mona613123 I was also really dissapointed at my PX-135 (newer model of px-130) after seeing many reviews and vids. Sounds were very dull and light years away from crystal clear. Really shame but lesson learned: videos are not nearly the best proof you need, best is to go to a store and try them yourself.
I guess mine keys sounded "out of tune" too. Slight vibration also but didn't bother me.
The only thing I don't like about this keyboard is there is no LED screen to keep track of what setting you are using. This makes it very poor for a performance piano where lighting conditions are low. As well, the print below each setting is VERY tiny and hard to read. I'm going to put a static plastic sheet on mine and re-label everything so I can see it with no trouble at night.
@MarshmelllowMess Yes, and it's actually more sensitive than a real piano in this regard, you can hit the keys more softly. A real piano would actually not hammer on the strings with a super-light touch. You can also set the key sensitivity, but I like the default setting.
@MarshmelllowMess I got mine for a lot less on Amazon, they're really getting competitive... just plug in Casio PX-130 in their search, you can get one fairly cheap these days.
good info, however one thing I've noticed on these piano demo's is that people use the camcorder mic for picking up the piano's audio. Bad Mistake. You are cheating your viewers and the piano of its true sounds. Hook up the USB and record your performance then mix it in your video. Super simple to do.
@Mad4jazzy Yeah, it sounds bad here, I don't even use the actual built-in speakers on that keyboard, it's much better using a good set of speakers, even your own stereo's speakers will be better than the built-in. I would have preferred them to NOT have put speakers in the thing and made it cheaper.
As someone asked earlier, can you speak to the durability/reliability of this product? Hearing positive feedback in that regard from someone who has been using this keyboard for many months is the only thing holding me back from purchasing. Thanks.
@Selder661 Fijate en el video demo de Casio Privia, dura cuatro min y ahí se escucha bien. La verdad q suena muy bien y es accesible este pianito, creo q me voy a ahorrar para conseguir uno
If I plug speakers into the 1/8" headphone jack, where should I plug the amplifier into so that I can power the speakers. This might be a stupid question, but this will be my first time using an amp. Many thanks!!
i really missing the great lighting key in new casio piano. someday i need to buy a new. so hope casio made a new privia PL40R or celviano AL100R or AL150R.
LK keyboard dont have 88 key are like toys so that is no option.
This is an amazing grand piano/keyboard. I just purchased this exact one because I"m in between pianos & loved that this had a huge full keyboard. Mine did come with the three pedal stand & I can't keep my family & friend's hands off of it!! I love the harpsichord & strings & the 3 grand piano tones. I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants to be serious & switch it up...or just for a toy. I love the 61 classical songs & sheet music that comes with it. It's an awesome product!!!!
@ThisIsDream You could use either. The 1/8 for direct feed into a recorder or the USB to record tracks directly onto a computer. I use the 1/8, as my computer is too far away, so just record to my Zoom device and then dump to the computer later.
This was very helpful! Thank you so much for this video! Great demonstration. I'm assuming you were improvising most of the songs in the video so I must say good work to you! I'm strongly considering purchasing this product thanks to you now :)
The "Casio SP3" is simply a standard pedal that does a good job. We'll admit there are better pedals out there, but its Free. It will be up to you to decide if you need a better pedal, based on where you play. The SP3 comes Free with the PX130/PX330.
@Stiven135 - In the Casio PX130 box you get: One single sustain pedal, one wall adapter to plug in the unit and a sheet music holder that attaches to the back.
The Casio SP32 three pedal system can be purchased separately -- It is made to attach to the Casio CS67 stand which is also extra.
@MusicForAllBiz weird cause yesterday i went to bestbuy and i saw the box of the casio px130 in the lower right hand corner it said 'includes matching stand and SP32 Pedalsystem :) am lucky am geting it on black friday!
Great playing! After much research and review-reading, I'm pretty sure that the PX-130 is the right keyboard for me. I'm very impressed with the sound, weight, appearance, and features of it. However, I am concerned with the durability of the keys. I've read that the resistance fades, the keys wobble, etc. after only a couple of months. Do you know anything about this/should I be concerned? Thanks!
@airplanes717 - Yes! There is a record function - 2 tracks. There is also a USB port to connect to your PC. You would need recording software on CD, which is available many places.
@Rhaabjorn - You would need the 'Line Out' feature, which is on the PX330 to connect to external speakers. Google "Casio PX330 Privia 88 Note Digital Piano" and we are the top listing.
I have no speakers right now on my pc, but I wanted to make sure of something. Does the piano have a Drawbar organ sound and a Wurlitzer(think What'd I Say by Ray Charles) sound? I'm gonna be playing for my church, and I need those sounds in a cheaper priced piano, and this seems to be right.
@xnp70 I've tried the Casio px130 and the Yamaha P85 which is a valid comparison since they are in the same price range. The Yamaha is slightly heavier, but the Casio is also good. It depends on your preferences. I like the PX130 for its additional features (chorus, reverb, USB midi, 2 track recording, duet mode..) but for a beginner these features may be consider as extras. Both are great sounding for the price you pay.
It has a sustain-pedal jack on the back and a special jack on the bottom for casios 3-pedal adapter 'sp32', which also supports half-pressed sustain pedal. there are no special models of the px-130
At Winter NAMM, Casio announced they will have the PX-130 WE (White) available in June or July 2010. Be sure to check our website for details if anyone is interested!
so, it has one jack for the sustain pedal, but how then you have 3 pedals? i am going to buy this piano tomorrow, px 130 and i asummed it had just one pedal.
Thanks for making this video! I am looking into buying my first digital keyboard now that I am making decent amounts of money and living away from home (and consequently my real piano).

I bought this piano a month ago and unfortunately:
-some keys are "out of tune"
-some keys have a vibration, especially lower keys
I'm surprised nobody else in the reviews I read had such complaints. Is mine defective or is this just normal for a "lower end" piano?

The keyboard is meant to have a minimalist aesthetic, similar to a real piano.

@Kloborgg A screen can fit with that...
