  • WPXI Pittsburgh(NBC) didn't clear Cullen Chain Reaction, Cullen Blockbusters, or Hot Potato, and Pittsburgh didn't see the 1985-86 season of Joker anyway, and Cullen is more associated with Pittsburgh than Davidson is. I think Davidson moved out of Pittsburgh earlier in his childhood than Cullen did.

  • @zachhoran Actually, WOR was on cable across the country at that time, so if the cable companies in Pittsburgh carried it, then everyone with cable did have access to Cullen TJW.

  • That does not look like studio 33 to me.

  • John didn't make fun of the $0 score. Dick poked fun at the $0 score a bit more when it happened during the Tom POston Winner's Circle in 1986. But John also didn't introduce the third player in the tournament until the end of the show, which Dick always mentioned the third player at the beginning of each show.

  • TexasTV, do you have Days 2 and 3 of this first tournament? Also, do you have the whole week of the second Davidson tournament?

  • @Sjsuman5000 Nope, just Mon, Thur and Fri of the 1st tournament, and Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri of the 2nd tournament week.

  • @TexasTV Do you have the time to upload the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday episodes of the second tournament?

  • EXTREME, INTIMATE, GEOGRAPHY in the first WC---Tricky.

Second WC had too many traps: Things that are NEAR/CLOSE, Things you LIE ON/LAY. SETTLED is a hard $200 category.

  • To be fair, these were on average harder subjects than usual. Thanks for posting. "You and me" isn't buzzable? "Us together" would have been acceptable?

  • BEAUTIFUL viewing quality, man!! Brings back memories of me watching this every morning back in early '91, when I was four! :-)

  • Anita Gillette had a $0 win on $50K in 1981. $0 wins happened a few times on Donny's version too.

  • THis came from KDKA Pittsburgh, which airedPyramid at 10AM throughout its 1991 run. THis means KDKA didn't pick up the last week of Goen WOF on CBS(Pyramid bowed on 1/7, Goen WOF left CBS on 1/11), Barbara Deangelis show, Soap Feud(a month of soap stars on Feud in May 1991), and Designing WOmen reruns. Pittsburgh was where this version got some of its highest ratings reportedly.

  • @zachhoran Probably because Davidson is a native of Pitt, and everyone wanted to view one of their hometown celebs on TV.

  • This is probably the only time in the history of any Pyramid that the shutout happened in a Tournament episode.
