This show was like the second coming of the Beatles. Besides the harmonies, the girls were screaming so loud, there were times when you couldn't hear the band (well, especially when they were talking between songs). f***'n-a.
Every time I hear this song it reminds me of the Beatles, but a lot more energetic... this is hard for me to admit because I am the biggest Beatles' fan there is, but ever since I heard these guys for the first time in May, 'till the time I went to the concert two weeks ago, I have not been able to even put them on the same category with any other band on earth...TAB are TAB, and there is really nothing that gets close to their music.
I took a friend to see them in March? at Rebel in NY... He's a big music fan, but he didn't really want to go see what he thought was a country/bluegrass band... halfway through the show, he looks at me stunned and says "What if it's like we're seeing the Beatles before they made it huge" He was blown away.
A similar situation has happened with my friends... I mean, comparing any band to how huge the Beatles made it, it's a huge risk as well... But I have shown the band to friends, family, etc; and they cannot believe that they actually like a band where there is banjo... this is simply another category. Every time I see a comment saying "pure bluegrass.." or whatever, I have no option than to disagree, and say "this is not bluegrass my friend, this is the Avett Brothers".
their live shows are incredible. Blue Heron Festival they are always there and always blow everyone away...besides Slo-Mo of course.
