  • He is loved is the south of Australia as well......

  • what live album of his and more to the point where can i get it ? thanks Gaines was sick..... if ya know what i mean..

  • @downpaymentblues311

I bought it off his website

just search for Steve Gaines' website on google. cause apparently I can't post links.

Last I checked his website was down, but its definitely worth the money.

  • @downpaymentblues311 I used to go watch him play in the early/mid 70's in Pittsburg Kansas at The Barn. Crawdad was the band. He was amazing.

  • yeah smokin some azzzzz

  • We love Steve in the South! The South of Scotland that is! Great player, singer & writer.

  • ...thanks

  • thanks for posting this stuff. Steve Gaines is loved and missed. So sad thinkin of what could have been with Steve and Ronnie working together.

  • what a triple-threat...guitar, writing & vocals....I started playing guitar in '71 and this man WILL always be my favorite picker....and maybe just behind Paul Rodgers as a singer...and that is saying something.

  • I hear the influence of Leon Russel here....you got the bar piano, the back-up singers, and that groove that Leon used.

Why not? Two Oklahoma boys, weren't they?!!!

  • check out the band Rufus Huff . The guitar player owns and plays Ed Kings 1958 Les Paul. Greg Martin - he played 6months with Skynard subbing for Ed King he also plays with the Kentucky Headhunters. Rufus Huff is the real deal. Check'em out.

Real Southern. Hale to Lynyrd Skynyrd...... LONG LIVE THE SOUTH !

  • Gotta love this guy !!! Steve Gaines is the man !!! wow-where HE would be today...

  • does anyone have steve singing ain't no good life.

  • i think your about righton on that subject

  • Steve Gaines lost his life just as he was beginning to peak. He obviously loved playing with Skynyrd, and they really benefited from his talents.

And If there had never been Cassie Gaines, Could Stevie Nicks have been anything more than a cocktail waitress and groupie?

    (answer: No.)

  • WOW I feackin' love Steve Gains. He died way way way to soon. This kinda reminds me of The Beatles idk why... STEVE GAINS RIP BUDDY

  • nice.

  • You can also hear his sister, Cassie Gaines, who is singing backing vocals on this track. She's also the one who has the closing line on this track.

  • Lost Potential. Long Live Steve.

  • I hear Aerosmith in that a little....anybody else hear it?

  • Definitely, but not from a direct influence. He has some similarity of vocal range and character and of course common influences esp blues, American and British like Yardbirds and Stones.

  • Many Thanks... Steve is my Hero ;)

  • he's more of a blues type but he fit in with skynyrd perfectly. he fuckin rocks

  • Cool!!! He was a genius...

  • This guy was the real deal. People talk about Randy Rhodes being a young genius - but Steve Gaines was a triple threat - he wrote, played and sang songs.

  • HOT DAMN!!! Man that kicked ass! Is that of one in the sun?

  • No, its off his live album

  • sweet thanks man!

  • I'm not familiar with a Gaines live album...what's it called and how did you get a hold of it??

  • where can i find the One in the Sun album? i look on youtube and limewire, no dice.

  • you can go to his website, ebay or best buy can order it for you

  • damn I wish he was still alive. kick ass song

kinda sounds like a beatles song huh?

  • Also pretty sure that Cassie is singing on this track.
