He nailed it when he said it depends on the state. If a place like hawaii wants to increase their rev, they have tourism, thus a sales tax would make sense. They could do with very little property taxes. Meanwhile, a farming state with no tourism but lots of land might do better with a property tax.
I think the key here though which he kind of mentioned was to create a baseline, and then give tax breaks / reduce taxes for years that you did well in other areas.
Fox sure kept hammering on what is the best tax mix to prop up state spending. We'll keep asking you how to best tax the population, so we'll ask it 3 different ways.
Fox must think folks are idiots. "For the layman"... duh... gee... I think he said it that clearly himself. Lady has a great idea... how about dumping on a completely NEW tax, like a VAT? So... asking a 4th way... if we did that, then would that work to support the spending?
