There is so much going on in that 2 minutes, it boggles my mind. I can feel the cycle very distinctly, but I can't for the life of me count what he's doing. He's got odd meters layered over odd meters layered over odd meters, and they expand and contract rhythmically kind of like a row of cars with their turn signals on - each flashing at their own rate until they all come around and flash in unison before descending back into chaos.
Absolutely fucking amazing. Head drumming all the way.
Please watch the Moeller Series videos on my page for hands and FEET and my other double bass vids. I think it might help you with your feet. You seem alittle struggled and tense while performing basic patterns and you might beable to play more dynamic phrases instead of stomping around singles throughout some pedals. I mean it sincerly. I just thought that it might help you. Great playing! Peace
Drumming for drummers. Zeldman talked me into pre-paying for some lessons back in '96 & then magically vanished into the East Village with my $100 never to be seen or heard from again 'til I see him here @ YouTube. I took one 90 minute lesson from Billy Ward in '03 & still think about every key point in that hour & a half that he smacked me around in (metaphorically, of course). BW may not be a drum "God" but he's honest, drug-free & plays the f**k out of time. In other words, he works. Later.
his ride/crash ride or w/e is muted or something. whatever reason he did it for, it made it sound like shit. (or it could be broken or something idk). but yeah he has some seriously ridiculous polyrhythms. great stuff!
I have seen Pete at a drum clinic, and what he does here in this video is nothing compared to what he can do. He is so far ahead that he is truly beyond comprehension. Awesome. I just wish there were more of his videos on youtube
he was the 1st clinic i ever saw actually, and i know what u mean.... he is just awesome! and when he breaks down what hes laying it seems a thousand times harder than it looked in the 1st place! also i was suprised hes like 2 feet tall! lol
before there was minneman, lang, donati, and whoever else is rockin' a multi-pedal set up...there was pete. fully realized and evolved beyond almost all our comprehension. its about time everyone finds out what i've known since 1989:
Simply amazing. Been trying to see Pete play for years; great to see this video. Post more! I have Other Not Elsewhere and have been craving more of this stuff for years!
Peter`s skills are better than ever. God bless him. I studied with Pete in the early 90`s . Get Other not Elswhere , Pete`s solo drum album . A Classic and a must for any serious polyrythmic player.

Pete isn't that interested in money. Making up BS like this will only fall back on you. I know Pete too well to believe your story.
Concentrate on your own playing and in time you might be able to play as much with 4 limbs as he can with his left foot.

The best poly-rhythmic drummer on Earth.
I've got the opportunity to study with him in the early 90's at what it used to be Drummer's Collective and that was an amazing experience.
Try to get a copy of his "Other Not Elsewhere" CD.
