This is one of my favorite Noe Venable songs. Everything about it is really good, but my favorite part is when she just looks into the camera. The expression I read from her eyes is so much like what I feel, and it makes me feel less alone in the world.
This song was there for me during a very difficult time. It still speaks to the child in me, and gives me hope that we can constantly rebirth ourselves, shedding cocoon after cocoon of error and dalliance, until our true selves emerge and we find real happiness. That sounds hopelessly cheesy, but it's the best I can do at capturing this transcendent, wistful feeling of hope and melancholy that this song evokes in me. Thanks, Noe.
@leahzero obviously a great song. in terms of the rather awesome philosophical ? in it, since she's quite a philosopher, in my humble, you've got two basic words for creation, i always thought BARA of Genesis fame, was beyond my nickel & dime pay grade. it's kind of a tailoring metaphor, i'm lucky i can fold my shirts. so i start thinking yetzer tov & the other, yutzy yetzer. it's pretty much numbers, and such talent as ms venable's suggests a glimpse of simplicity in complexity & that's awesum
Always one of my favorite NoeV songs - like many of hers, it's a lush tapestry of sounds from another world. And what a beautiful visual take on the song....To echo others: stunning.
Beautiful video for a beautiful song. I hope you do more videos for your songs from The World is Bound By Secret Knots. It's one of my favorite albums of all time.
Honored to be the first to comment ~ a gorgeous, ethereal video, which brings the (equally-gorgeous and ethereal) song to life brilliantly. Love the primal mask close-ups intercut with the swirling far shots, just magnificent. Noe's long hair doesn't hurt either. All in all, a stunning video.
That is one major-league pimple on the person with the bark mask.

Beautifully done. I was so happy to find this...
I abosolutely love the variation in vocals and how poetically the lyrics form..
"The taste of rain
Getting called names
comments of pain
and other bright things.."
There are so many wonderful little parts to compose the whole. Beautifully captured as well.. Such interesting shot placement and visual direction.

Absolutely beautiful, the feel of the forest fits the song so well (and the mask is a work of art in and of itself).
I went and picked up Secret Knots and Summer Storms from emusic because of this video :).

I feel myself pulled into the deep forest where a birch bark mask is the only way to be human. Beautiful video!

A green and luscious video. The photography is stunning, as is the song, the mask, the singer, and the slug!
