Those are gray foxes, saw a lot of those on the campus of Sul Ross State University in Alpine, TX. Coyotes are larger, up to sixty pounds more or less. Mexican wolves are believe to be extirpated from the state, although populations exist just south of the Rio Grande & across the border in New Mexico, so it is possible Mexican wolves have returned to the Davis Mountains. But anyway, what you have here are some beautiful gray foxes.
That would be way to small for a Wolf and I doubt that baby Wolves would be running in the streat. They're not stupid enough to even do that. They're parents would of taught them that before they were even that age yet. I'm thinking a fox. They don't have very good scence at night like cyotes and Wolves do. And the one that went to the side was probably smart enough to get off the rode unlike the other one. Or they're den was there. But that's just comming from me.
@MrHomelessgnome MEANER! they have a life to live. they want to live it. and you just go ahead and say " OH LOOK AT ME I THINK I AM SOO COOL CUZ I LIKE TO KILL ANIMALS THAT WANT TO LIVE UH HUH DOY DOY DOY" ur mean
If you look closely it appears that the one closest to us is a coyote. The other one seemed smaller, although it could just be because it was far away. I would say that the bigger one was a coyote and the smaller a fox. The coyote was prly just chasing the fox for the sport of it. Which is why it didn't follow the fox into the brush.
not wolves, wolves are way bigger than foxes and coyotes, perhaps they are foxes just the way the ears are round at the top, coyotes ear are more pionty at the top.
its a fox, coyotes have longer legs, longer ears and a diferent head/tail proportions... wolves are heavier, they run diferently, they have shorter ears, horter less bushi tails... wolves look nothing like foxes
Fox. They are using your headlights to flush prey. Not stupid pretty smart, although it is dangerous for them. I have had Hawks follow me in my 4X4 hoping I flush a rabbit out for them.
even if u didnt know these where foxes by how they look, ud know becuase of how dumb they are...coyotes n wolves are usually too smart to do anything like that...i know why rich brits hunt foxes like they do..its an easy hunt, they just arent all that bright of an animal
The answer might be "some or all of the above". Where I live in the eastern US, we are plagued with an increasing population of wild dogs that are generally referred to as coyotes, but are not the same animal as Western coyotes, being larger and more dog-like in appearance. The leading theory is that these nuisance canids are no species in particular, but a hybrid of coyote, gray wolf, and dog, and there is some evidence that they also can interbreed wtih foxes.
