Wow. I have tons of respect for those inmates now. They saved the life of a man who was charged with making sure they stayed in jail. I don't know how many ppl would even do that and several of them stepped up to the plate. Seriously respectable of them. Regardless of what they did before, they saved a man's life that day

@Solowizard  A C/O that does their job is not automaticaly disliked by inmates. Inmates know the score, and most inmates know the C/O has a job to do. It's about the respect he gives inmates while doing his job, not treating them sub-human. I worked in prison for years, and have been warned by Inmates that "tomorrow would be a good day to call in sick" because they did not think I deserved to get attacked.

The public often has an idea that inmates and correctional personnel are enemies. In spite of their crimes, most imates are real human beings, some in crime because of outside forces like drugs or alcohol.

These PEOPLE saved this officer;s life. I know of three incidents, personally, in which a custodial officer was saved in courageous circumstances. These guys are heroes!
