The TV Show theme was a bit slower and it gave it a deeper FUNKYNESS to it which was it's whole appeal.

Hey thanks! Yea - I see what you're saying about our version being a little rushed. We tended to record some of these songs right after learning them...so just getting from beginning to end seemed an accomplishment! There are actually 3 versions from the TV show that I am aware of - the low octave guitar version, high octave guitar version, and of course the version using Tuba on lead - all are great!

Now that you are aware it, would you be re-recording it after blowin' a few doobies and slowing it down a bit?

It's pretty much the same speed as the original. Slow does not mean funky. Being able to pull off the song clean and stylish at a good clip is really the issue. To alot of people, myself included, nothing is better than a piece of music performed masterfully at a lively tempo; it gets your head bobbing and your feet tapping.

Sure - the software I use is Adobe Premier - which is very pricey - so you may want to check out alternatives. The effect is called chroma key or blue screen. It's what the weatherman uses on TV. We stand agains a solid blue background, then later using the blue screen effect - are able to put a second video track behind the band. If you wear blue jeans, your pants are invisible - by the way!

Here is a strange story. In the 80's I used to play rhythm guitar for a rather forgettable band in LA. Anyway, one night we were playing a show with a bunch of other bands down at the Whiskey an the band after us had the very familiar guy that played bass for them. It was Butch Patrick. He still looked like Eddie Munster even 20 years later. I think I still have his autograph somewhere. His band was pretty good, better than us anyway.
