  • 3.5 years on and this clip still get comments eventhough new model has already come out - thanks people :-)

  • 49 People like real cars, the others 2 drive honda!

  • ^^Porscheaner4Ever

Was twice on the racetrack in Weissach. FANTASTIC feeling.

  • Who would not op for the paddles? This jamoch just kept the buttons? Lame! I'd get the paddles and I'd get the full Fabspeed performance upgrade. That would be my everyday sports car. The 458 would be tucked away in the garage.

  • @buttnut1080 More than 2 years on and this clip still get comments - great!! :-)

  • @wiwatchang Is that supposed to surprise you? And are you trying to insult me or what?

  • @buttnut1080 I dont know how u could have misinterpreted my intention that way - I even put a smiley at the end.

  • Porsche rules

  • ssshporwt plus butttun!

  • I like porsche more than, lambo and ferrari.

  • Porsche is a great company with great cars.

Me 2 I like porsche more then a lambo, ferrari or those nissan gtr...

  • same

  • agreed, not to mention ferrari is just so impractical as a daily driver and they're too futuristic looking.

  • is there or will there be a 4seat version of carrera (something like the soon coming panamera)? I love this car, the design is apsolutly amazing, especially the rear end. Only aston martin can stand next to it, it is better than any italian super car.

  • thanks for the video, you sound so much like a friend of mine from Germany who is also an engineer

  • You mean HE - the test engineer driving the car - not me the passenger ;-)

  • it changes gears slower than the F1 transmission of the ferrari (200 milisecs vs 60 milisecs), but the PDK has two clutches, so one is ALWAYS engaged. the car doesn never lose connection between gearbox and engine and the ferrari does. the turbo will smoke f430 scuderia! and porsches don't rust and are everyday cars, something ferrari has never achieved.

  • true but the two clutches are meant for two banks of cogs.. one clutch engages for odd gears i.e. 1,3,5 and 7 while the other clutch engages for 2, 4 and 6.. its not that one clutch is always engaged..

  • I haven't seen a Ferrari with rust in a very very long time, not even my 328gts rusted out living close to the beach. I drove that car, later on a Testarossa, 360F1 and for the last year a F430 six speed and all worked perfect as daily drivers, no rust and not breaking down. I have also owned five different Porsches and I'm a big fan, I like them as much as the Ferraris, lets not live in the myth that Ferraris are unreliable rust buckets.

  • its no more faster than the ferrari transmision

    its slow

  • 1st = you can't compare because I guess you have never tested they both

    2nd = learn to write =)

  • its too slow!!

  • definitiv not

  • Thanks for the advice! I'm really motivated so I would do everything what is necessary!

  • Thanks, but I didn't catch his name.

AFAIK, all German auto engineers aim to work with Porsche as the coolest place to be.

But should that dream not be realised, they would go to Audi, BMW or Merc and keep their ears open on job opening at Porsche.

Best bet would also be to apply and try out ANY summer job training there even if not about engineering - so long as you get your face in there ;-)

  • Hi, nice video! Launch control seems to kick asses. ^^ Can you tell me the name of the test driver/engineer? I'm studying to do it my job and it would be interessting to know where did he study to do that.

  • I like his accent! ;) and wee push buttn so ze qar is konfiguard

  • He's zie German!

  • go fuck your self for getting a automatic you fucking faggot. who the fuck buys a autmatic porsche? or even test drives one. i can never imagine driving my 2008 carrera s as a automatic.

  • You definitely have never driven a car with double clutch manual. PDK and all other double clutch gearboxes ARE MANUAL in mechanicals but has electronics to preselect gears hence giving it automatic mode.

They don't use a torque converter as in a conventional auto.

Double clutch techonology was born from Porsche Le Mans race cars in the 80's (around time some of you were born).

With this kind of gearbox you can shift gears yourself like in modern race cars.

  • what pushing buttons is fun? push 2 buttons to go up a gear, and pull them to go down a gear, thats not mannual, thats tip tronic if everything.. No 3rd Paddle(klutch) no buy, its worthless to have any sport car, without the klutch taht you can push down on.. there is no fun in having PDK, you mightas well buy a automatic.

  • "and the videocam smacked my face" LOL i like that.

    OWNED!

  • i looks faster then a nissan g-tr!! :D

  • Umm... perhaps this look spectacular in the narrow twisty test track at Weissach, but the GT-R would be faster and more of a match to the 911 Turbo.

  • Thanks, it was. But I still wonder how much faster a real test driver would have done it ;-)

  • nice video dude. that must have been fun.
