  • I must report the following 1959 incident:

Bethesda, Maryland. My aunt is driving 12-y.o. me and my similarly aged cousin from A to B. I'm spending the summer with them. Connie comes on the radio in the big Pontiac my aunt drove, singing "Lipstick..." Two 12-year-olds spontaneously break into singing along, albeit with revised lyrics.

"Pipstick on your lenis, told a tale on you..etc etc." Laugh riot. Aunt finally inquires of cousin, "Dennis, what's a LENIS?"

    2 quiet boys!

    Great vid, thanks!

  • Hi Jack! What a surprise your mentioning the Band Box! I'll never forget the Band Box & Joe Ravelli & Charlie the bartender & Dick Young! You really conjured up some great memories! Is that place still there? Cheers! George
