@alectroniq dont the company is screwed no more updates and it steals the code directly from the chameleon bootloade rif you want a hackintosh for free search chameleon and the best version of it in my opinion is the aserebln booter but research its a great community and ive had a stable constantly updateing "mac" for 18 months now with no problems what so ever

Like mischatf and ra687 said, all the EFIX really is is a usb thumbstick internals inside a thin box with a bootloader on it

And thats why they have you plug it into the internal usb connector.. to deceive you from thinking its something simple like a normal thumbstick

Nothing more than a usb thumbstick with a bootloader just like the one found on osx86 distros and a few patches.. thats also why its hardware specific... because it has them patches for the hardware it tells you to get

It creates an EFI environment and lets pc hardware boot,run and upgrade mac software(you need an OSX disk to install still)

Macs use EFI... its called EFIX because it "fixes" EFI issues that is the main cause osx wont run and upgrade on hackintoshs pc's unless very very specific hardware is used

This makes hackinintosh building very easy if you buy the right hardware but all in all you'll still only get the peformance of a fast imac even with high end pc hardware

Final Cut Runs, but has some weird delay when scrubbing the timeline. No idea what causes this, but it works nevertheless.

Premiere Pro CS4 does run, but crashes when I import ProRes files.  Original Mac Pro works OK, so something isn't the same on the hackintosh!

Efi-x is for noobs that doesn't know how to use boot-132 cd to boot you Retail DVD. That's free and much much faster. My benchmarks are: Geekbench: 8613 XBench (with disk): 427 Specs: - MSI P965 Neo -f V2 - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - 2GB Kingston ValueRam 800Mhz - NVidia Geforce 8400GS - Disk: Software RAID 5 x Samsung EcoGreen F1 DT HD103UI (U can't with EFI-x, only boot-132) Monitor: Philips 24" Display Total costs: $ 750
