Damn! I think the Jackson family was involved into this tragic nightmare back on January 17, 1994 cus they lived in Hayvenhurst that time O.M.G. I hope they are okay cus I don't they to get hurt :-(
And notice: The most damage was done to apartment complexes.
Makes one wonder if any structural renovation was done to apt. buildings around that area in general since then. Considering that most of them are still 20+ years old, and looking very much the same as they do here, I kind of doubt it. Makes one also wonder why SoCal rent is still so astronomically high... Landlords; any words of wisdom on this front?
No, Northridge was an EQ with a moment magnitude of 6.8, but occurred under an urban area and with the most ground acceleration in recent (since 1900) history, making it appear larger. I was 11 at the time and lived less than a mile from the epicenter.
As for the big one, SoCal really can't generate anything more than an 8, but Cascadia, in Northern Cal, up to Canada, is a subduction zone and can produce an EQ of 9+, as it did on Jan. 26, 1700.
I remember that like it was yesterday. I was 11 at the time and living in Northridge, between Louise and Zelzah; less than a half a mile from CSUN. The shaking and sound of the quake was indescribable.
I was 7 at that time and I could remember my bedroom was being slammed, really hard and then yanked back n forth for like few times before it stopped. I am deaf but i could hear that terrible noise!
I lived in Panorama City and was 9 at the time ,I remember it like it was yesterday.. I still cant get over it ...

You overused the fade to another scene feature. Next time just let one scene pass and play out then fade to something else.
