do you have the other episodes of the rmake series? i'm dieing to see them! all i can find is the old series and i want to see the new. if you have it can you post it on youtube?
it is crap. Just the Beeb trying to pander to Reeves and that other knobhead. This programme should never have been made with these two greasy pricks in it.
I loved this re-make, paid homage to the original beautifully and it was really good fun, Saturday night TV. Kind of ironic that Mr Tennant was in the first episode and that he then went on to rule Saturday night telly as The Doctor.
Great cast, love Vic and Bob anyway, but Jessica Hynes was fab - "a mutant baby", and loved Charlie Higson's Hitchcockesque cameos. David Arnold's theme was simply beautiful.
Have it all on DVD but just wanted to comment. Think this show's been unfairly derided.
to be fair and objective, as much as i loved the original series, it wasn't a masterpiece of television unmatched by all around. it was another fun sixties tvshow, and the remake does it justice
This so-called "remake" was an ABSOLUTE DISASTER in my book!
No sense of characterization, and the crude language and lavortorial humour, there certainly was no need for.
I agree that the theme music is very good though. It was composed by David Arnold (now famous as the resident 007 film composer), so what else would you expect.
this remake is really good though I still prefer the original series, its seems like there's been a role reversal between Hopkirk and Randall. they are opposites ^^;
Hee, the fist thing I saw David Tennant in.(was lots of moments years later when I was like 'Where have I seen him before?' when I was watching Cassanova just after it was announced that he was the new Doctor*sighs* good times*
The person responsible for this diabolical remake should be shot. Absolutely atrocious, not a patch on the original. Almost as bad as the Professionals remake.
Ajecent, it is the Incorporated Television Company, Lew Grade's overseas TV producer responsible for the original Randall & Hopkirk in 1969. It knocks spots off this version.
It was tongue in cheek comedy at its best Vic and Bob are brilliant as usual and who cares if their acting isnt amazing it wasnt meant to be they werent doing it for the oscars they were meant to be a bit slap dash and Vic and Bob are always hillarious to watch! Charlie Higson is a genius for writing such great material he totally deserved a part in every show!
Charlie Higson was in every episdoe because he had a lot to do with the series. Its not what you know, its who you know, as the saying goes in showbiz, I did like this series, although not as good as the original, it was very entertaining.

At 3.53 there is a clever reference to Spooner St and Berman Drive. Dennis Spooner & Monty Berman were original writers/ producers.
