hell yeah Clyde is awesome. If you get the graphic novel it shows him giving his victims the "glasgow" smile, more than likely he did it to himself. Probably as self punishment because he failed a mission or maybe because he likes it. It's confusing, but I agree they really need to explain some things because the graphic novel really isn't canon to the actual game. Just some pros speculations...
