These are not the 3rd which is a military designation. Example 2nd Scots, 3rd Scots etc. Battle worn heroes of the Gulf and Afghanistan. I realise no insult was probably intended.

@ScottishShorts maybe u should learn to read before u comment,as the guy says: This was the third bagpipe band in the parade,meaning number 3,coming after 2 and before 4.No reference to any military designation as in 2 Scots etc.

Strange how the drummers, the ones responsible for keeping the rythem and the STEP can be totaly out of step with each other and the rest of the band

Cant get my head round the word bagpipers

.The correct name is Pipers and they play solo as a Piper and in a band as Pipers,which usually has drummers in it. kk

Strange how the drummers always seem to just 'blend' into the background, isn't it? Pipe bands are just so, well, pipe-centered, it is almost unfair how the percussion section is almost always overlooked.
