I'd agree with you, but I'd say that claymores are tied; merely, one's defensive and one's offensive.

Good point, but I would say that claymores are more avoidable and therefore less strategic. For example, on search and destroy, putting a c4 on the bomb is much smarter then using a claymore because it is easy to notice a claymore, however, you must activate a c4. Same in domination, headquarters, sabotage, and just about anything excluding team deathmatch and free for all.
