  • Absolutely no worlds for this guy. How old is he? How did he fit all that into such a short span?

  • All the time i doubt that my art will do any good i watch this and i realy want to paint again! And now i dont care if i will have any sort of career in art, i just love to spend time to it!

And i have to say that TED is one of the greatest ways to get a good all-round education!

  • What a sweetheart. That talk WAS a magic carpet ride.

  • You can tell that the Belinda story affects him very much. His tone changed at around 17:18

  • @Vosloff I noticed that too.. he sort of choked up.

  • He was my DAD's Bozzzzzzzzzzzzzzz in Bangalore

  • @Ibrahemazaruddin Did you dad think he was a good boss?

  • @CymroGoch - Very Much and he was proud to be with such a celebrity :)

  • @jazzykool007 That's pretty cool.

  • Wild ride!

  • Ragava ... Very good speech and presentation. Loved your sheer honesty... which is going to prove to be your strength. Keep it Up.

    Good Luck!

    Kuldip

  • Great talk. Great person. Love peace and understanding <3

  • Goodone Ragava, proud and impressed.....

    Mustafa...

  • that looks like bill gates in the audience...

  • @TejasM14 You think he means that?? Obviously he means connecting with and making an impression on a young person's soul, it's not even an issue.

Loved the talk by the way, I wish to live such a free spirited and creative life.

  • wonderful talk. the only thing i would advise is to not finish it by telling hundreds of people to touch children lol

  • for some reason this guy reminds me of harmony korine

  • @magic585 like if he was a better person

  • Faith in humanity?

    Restored.

  • Wow... amazing speech.

    O.

  • The western world seems to be entirely consumed by the fear of pedophilia. Not every other person would choose that dreaded path. Raghava seems an eccentric, yet a loving and full of life artist. I think he meant 'touch' as in feel the free spirits of children.

  • This is an amazing video. He is an incredible artist and human being. So genuine and loving and honest =)

  • he meant "touch children" in a good sense.

the way you touch your kids.

comments on you tube tell a lot about the mental nature of a person.

  • I loved what he said about the mummy & dying each night and being born again each morning! That is so beautiful!

He's such an amazing person! drawing his way through security!?? that's mental!

  • great work!!!!

  • That was an incredible life-journey that he shared with us.

  • WoW!

  • What a amazing life he has had!!!! and im sure will continue to have!!!!

  • Great work, great story teller, full of enthusiasm. Wish he and his family all the best for the future. Would I be going to far if I likened him to Picasso?

  • Awesome !

  • A true artist...i'd love to have a piece of his work

  • yea what a cool guy! And a good sense of humour. =)

  • What an amazing guy

  • Amazing Artist! Very BRAVE.

  • legalize marijuana and you will see an explosive rate of art generated.

  • @BallinTrollin HOLY SHIT I WANT TO SEE "HI" ART (if ya catch me drift)

  • He seems to be a very nice, enlightened, intelligent man. I loved his presentation.

  • Great artist with amazing thoughts....

  • watch Zeitgeist

  • such cool paintings

  • amazing work in an art world that presently is very underwhelming.

  • I resonated with the darker images presented, partly because I felt they were honest.

Funny how all his hipster friends in the fashion industry abandoned him once he tried to say something personal and somewhat uncomfortable/unpleasant. But hey, what are friends for, right?

  • Awesome artist

  • Excellent presentation. I would thank Raghava for his candor.

  • That was the most inspiring TEDTalks i've have seen in a very long time!

  • this guy sounds like he was born in a high class tho

  • really cool lecture :) for some reason, his voice and hair reminds me of micheal cera though!

  • Haha awesome guy!

  • I love this guy's energy in his presentation, captivates the audience.

  • what a lovely guy. fantastic presentation!

  • At first I didn't think I would enjoy this video (I am not great at understanding art) but his openness and honesty were captivating. It was quite enjoyable.

  • he was lovely!

(people who profess to 'understand art' profess far too much...been an artist of sorts all my life...)

Nothing to understand, but that its his self expression...you may enjoy it or not..the really important thing is that he does!

  • He's awesome. Great talk.

  • I love it it when Ted talks about art and music .. Puts all other sites to shame .. Best talk from Ted ive seen in a long damn time .. And most of the people commenting here are fucking disgusting .. i agree .,.

  • @Solutho you are disgusting, you are obviously learning nothing from these talks that share culture and open-mindedness.

  • @daviblight You're on youtube. May I remind you of the main demographic? Look at the top subscribed users for a hint.

  • You take it easy. I've nothing against the guy or any other culture.

But you must agree with me about the female -ish accent.

  • @Solutho So what? What's wrong with being a homo?

  • To you faux communists: Marx did not mind you making money. He was critical of those who own the means of production and profit from the exploitation of others.

  • haha, I' wouldnt go so far.

But prepare yourself for the politically-correct replies, even if the first thing that came up to their minds was the same thing came up to yours.

They call it being open-minded, I call it being an hyprocrite fool.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAH He's so frickin weird! How awesome!

  • Brought me to tears T_T

  • wow, such a prolific array of works.

  • Artists should be free to draw whatever they want, then let the audience decide if they like what they see.

  • Very Inspiring! Even so his PR buddy should tell him to stop "touching children"

  • @audiowiz wow, you're perverse.

  • Excellent!!!! I loved it. Especially he made the ill girl given with a hope and felt like she's on the top of the world!!! great...

  • That was beautiful.

  • everything is for money ppl.. dont u get it? YES he works with children, YES he makes them happy, YES his passion and message are inspirational, YES he is great artist. BUT despite all that, he is making pretty god darn MONEY. !! everything always comes to money !!

  • There is a huge difference between people doing the right thing, for the right cause, making money with it, and people doing the right thing for money, by accident.

Considering all those asses, that make millions out of sick wall-street-gambling, having no problem to set others on the street if they can't pay, a poor indian, that sells his paintings to the rich guys, getting wealth and fame by that really deserves his money.

  • @vanpat1987 thats life.thats how it is and thats how it always will be. NOW if we were all born billionaires then MAYBE our motivation would be about others things.

  • @vanpat1987 hey, comrad. I too consider this capitalist swine to be an abomination. :D

  • note how people ran away from his honest works. dark side and all.

  • Is it me or are the links no longer necessarily in the side bar?

  • AMAZING

possibly one of the best at TED ive ever seen

and a standing ovation at TED!

  • If you don't understand how art can be world changing, then I doubt you actually understand what TED is about.

  • world changing breakthroughs happen in the mind, not in the factory.

No matter how interesting those Big talks are, the little ones aren't less interesting, if you value the little bits of truth for their rareness.

  • Great speech thanks

  • Honesty in art - very brilliant!

  • What a beautiful person. I really needed to see this.

  • that guy is living an awesome life. He has no beef with up and leaving. And is still able to find success

  • What's wrong with that sentence?

    Not everybody is a pedophile.

  • In India pedophilia isn't as much of an issue as it is here in America.

  • Incredible. Really, really amazing person, really amazing artist. Wonderful talk - the best in a while!

I was totally captured by his positivity and sense of humour! He is inspirational.

  • LOL at the 69 of new york

  • Comment removed

  • amazing artist and wonderful talk

  • that guy was an interesting character lol. His giant painting were awesome.

  • As an Indian, I can testify to how stultifying the culture is. So much emphasis is placed, in the Indian culture, on academics and achieving material success, that very few take the pursuit of something as creative as being a cartoonist very seriously. In fact those who express an interest in such a vocation are generally stigmatized by the culture. That is why I find Raghava so inspirational. He doesn't let the myopic strictures imposed by culture stop him from his passion.

  • I think it's a good thing for people to see somebody courageous about using sex and satire in their art, and also helping and teaching children. There's this species-wide paranoia about sex being a corrupt evil thing, and that if somebody is willing to talk about sex, and also help children, that they must somehow be perverted. Children are a beautiful part of the human reality, and sex is too. I think we all have a bit of growing up to do.

  • absolutely right, well said! Also a great talk and really nice paintings too :)

  • now this was somthing lol:)

  • he got emotional at the end

  • Great speech!

  • This guy is bursting with energy, how very contagious. It was an excellent talk.

  • ma bad

  • touch children lol

  • whats more disturbing is how everyone associates touching children with sexuality

  • I take it you not a fan of sigmund fraud... oops i made a slip...

  • Could you explain yourself some more?

  • Yes, a strong societal problem of our times.

  • I totally agree with you.

  • so positive and motivating! Best!

  • i think we should all touch children and be honest about it to. thanks man for an interesting talk

  • @jeffersondong Actually that sounds a bit weird :P

  • Amazing guy!

  • high balled? good speach tho :)

  • its a very moving speech :)

  • "touch children" hahaha ...but such a nice talk :).

  • hahahahaha

  • It's so sad how so many people with talent are spurned from support like that just because someone takes offense to it. What was so offensive about it? That it expressed the truth of the situation? Whether you agree with Bin Laden or not, that was what happened!

  • Excellent talk!

  • that bin ladin cartoon is really amazing

  • I liked it too, but I can see where people would get upset at it. People (including myself) were crazy emotional.
