Sounds like the apparent main theme they didn't use for ME1.

Check 0:12 of the 'alternate' main theme, it's sounds similar or is the same but sped up. There's probably words for to explain this clearer but I'm unfortunately not glossary when it comes to musical terms.

I get the feeling this would of been music for the galaxy map.

Sounds like they scrapped a recurring theme (this and the alternate) and changed it to what we typically know in ME1. When I say recurring I mean the music that you hear in the main theme, spectre enlistment scene, from the wreckage, and the end of the game

Basically you keep hearing the same instruments and the theme might be changed a little to represent the mood of the scene.

I think they went with the old theme and this but decided to change it.

My opinion.
