dolfans5400 is wrong. i removed my two rear cats and no light came on and even if it does its an easy fix to trick the sensor. and if you dont have inspections its not a problem

hey man, is the SI/DO pretty loud? cuz i have a 2004 5.4L and i was thinkin about an x pipe going into true dual CB extremes. But i dont want to be obnoxious or way too loud so i was ownderin if the setup you have is not anoying or too loud

@13lilripsta13 It's loud but not too loud, I kinda wish it were a bit louder. I originally wanted to go true dual straight pipe but the shop wouldn't even do it cause it was going to be too loud. I'm extremely happy with my setup though

@Flan Cats are needed for inspection on everything after 1996. If you take it off your check engine light will come on and it wil not pass

@UFCownage It wouldnt make it louder by much, but would have some more tone. Although a 96 grand am is never gunna sound very good sorry dude. The best you can do is a cat-back exhaust. and not one of them fart can mufflers. I mean a true Cat-back

thanks, acceleration sounds amazing, highway and highway sound isnt bad at all, I'd say right above 2K it drones but it sounds sweet.

pipe sizes are in description. After switching to 33" tires, I noticed I could peel them in dry conditions after intake and exhaust so quite a bit of power, and pretty much lost mpg cause my foot is always on the gas

I got a cherry bomb extreme on my f150, dumped. I have to say, if you are thinking about just replacing the muffler, go with long tips. It adds a more "throaty" tone. Plus, does anyone else have a extreme muffler that the paint started to burn off? They should mention that, don't you think.

I know some came with red paint, mine didnt. It came raw so nothing could burn off, but who sees the muffler anyway?

true, still wish that i had gotten the front two cats taken off. it has a nice tone, but it would be louder with them off. I had a 94 ram with a flowmaster 40 duels like yours, it had 200k miles and looked like shit, but it still turned heads just because of the sound.

I was told by the guy who put on my muffler that if you cut them off, you'll kill your gas milage. I think that he is right to an extent, but you can't completely kill it if you only cut off two of the four. Another guy that i know has a f250 with the 5.4, he has the cats cut off and he says that it runs better and gets about the same gas milage.

another alternative is to replace the four cats with two high flow cats.

yeah, the cats play a big role in keeping enough backpressure in the system so your truck will run right. the 2 highflow cats would probably be ideal for the f150s.

Sounds great, I am going to be getting the same muffler on my '03 F150 soon. It's got the same engine as yours. But, I can't decide to get the pipes run infront of the R/R tire or drop it before the rear end. Any suggestions?

Yeah all 4 stock cats are still on there. highway is pretty mild at cruising speed in its highest gear, just a hum. until you go to pass someone....

sounds awesome man. I am a Die hard F-150 fan. I do have respect for Chevys, GMC's and Dodges, don't get me wrong, but I've grown up around f-150's all my life. My grandfather had f-100's and F-150's, my dad had them, and my uncles had them. and still do. You certainly know how to make a 5.4 Triton V8 roar, keep up the good work. Nice truck also.

No, I just bought a muffler and brought it to a shop who had pre bent pipes for an f150. You can get the pipes on ebay and other places.
