  • How bad is the smell of bio diesel?

  • What kind of shelf life does bio diesel have?

  • Looks like a lot of labor. Does your $1.00 per gallon factor in your labor and equipment cost?

  • @AudioGuise no but the time is worth it.

  • How many hours of labor are required for, say, 5,000 gallons using this process?

  • to make 5 litters of biodiesel we need 1 litter of methanol which cost about $4.00 p/litter, plus potassium hidroxide $?. So, at the end you get about 11/2 gal of biodiesel for almost $5.00. question: who said to get biodiesel at $0.70 per gal. ? please tell me where to get a cheaper methanol

  • Where are you located? Here in the US, methanol is very common at race shops. It's averaging a little over $4 US per gallon in small quantities (less in large bulk purchases). Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) runs about $65 US for a 55 pound bag. At those prices, assuming your waste oil is free, the finished product will cost you a little over $1 US per gallon.

  • @againstthefallen Easy, just purchase in high qtys. Little amount, high price

  • Awsome video I am looking to build one at my dad's warehouse. Is there any problem with legality of storing Diesel and methane inside of a warehouse. If there is we might just move it outside and build a shed around it. And btw were in Florida just in case laws are different in each state.

  • I am also a fan but what do you do with the crusties

  • We toss them out with the garbage...

  • Don't throw that stuff away! If you have enough 'crusties' you could probably sell them to a manufacturer of pet food or commercial livestock or poultry feed so they could beef up the protein level of their products. I know it sounds absolutely disgusting; but I have heard that they use far worse things than that, like slaughterhouse blood and chicken manure. Watch the videos on USA meat processing by 'the mad coyboy' for more info. You would never eat jerky if knew what goes into that!

  • Love the videos! Very informative. Keep up the good work!
