Technology has made the telephone a disposable item.

Something that some stand in line for hours for, soon to be forgotten for the next model, next brand.

iPhone it is now, but in 2 years it will be something else.

And in all of this, progress.

That is the telephone.

We had the best telephone service back then...too bad they broke up Ma Bell in 1985. I remember coming to work and feeling sad when that happened. I started working there in 1973...those were the days when employees took great pride in their work and we had the very best training.

oh ....also just noticed, ..not one Black, Asian, Hispanic or native Indian in sight.

Out of sight and out of mind was very typical of film making during that era.

@johnpro2 - They couldn't show them in those films. Especially not Black people, because that would offend the delicate sensibilities of all the bigots, particularly in the South. Even the TV networks & movie studios took great pains with their in-house censorship, to ensure there would be nothing in there that would require those bigots' local censors to remove the offending material.

Nice nostalgic vid....even shows a slide rule being used .Have not seen one of those since high school days in the 1960's.
