  • as far as i'm concerned, I don't think it was fair to take those handcuffs. Where did he get them from, a cop? Obviously there was no chance to get out of those once they were put on.

  • The Rock took a lot of liberties with Mick

  • u can hear the crowd on that last chair shot had enough!! this is the only thing that is tough for me to watch since i knew micks family was ringside and saw him take some of those chair shots!! i can watch any hardcore match but for some reason it's hard 4 me to see mick those chair shots!!

  • fucking Chris Benoit for killing his family. The WWE wont even show blood on their tv shows now because everyone is sooo afraid a WWE wrestler is gonna see that and run home and kill their family. REALLY!?!?! Thats the logic behind no more blood on tv? Fuck that, Benoit was a steroid abuser, and painkiller abuser, and even before that he had some kind of mental trouble. Either way, its bullshit, and wrestling wont ever be the same again.

  • @azrael7718 actualu that isnt the reason its because wwe have become sell outs to young kids so they make it pg 13 thats why just to make more money

  • @parcelln either way... theyre sell outs and it sucks. Theres NOTHING like this on tv or even the PPVs anymore. I keep on hoping theyll go back but everyones too stuck on the younger crowd, and making sure they dont do anything like that anymore. I even read on a sheet somewhere that they ended a match early a week or two ago because someone started unintentionally bleeding.

    BULLSHIT.

  • this is when the rock was heel

  • you dont get this anywhere. tna is has chairshots but not that many. nobody can take that many chairshots. mick foleys was a beast!

  • this is the stuff ; u dont get this anymore on wwe its shit

  • NEXT WEEK RANDY ORTON PUNTS JERICHO IN THE HEAD to get him off TV for a while. See..theres still violence today in WWE! (Next weeks RAW has already been taped)

  • @yippeeyo

dont comparw that shit with this. this is legendary

  • After reading the book Folly is Good, Mick said a lot of people showed up at his locker room while he was laid out on the floor getting stitched up, and the only guy to not go check up on him to see whether he was alright after the beating of a lifetime was.....The Rock. That sucks.

  • ROCK!!! PUT DOWN THE CHAIR !!! THANK YOU!!!

  • best match ever, agreed

  • 2:56 King says the most spoken phrase used in WWE history !!!!!

  • @bernard1878 yeah cole is a dumb ass

  • What was he thinking??? He damn near killed him...how many unprotected chair shots was that? and to the back of the head??

  • lmao! after foley low blowed the rock.... King: what a cheater xD

  • What the The Rock did on this one was so sickening that most of the people didn't even care to follow his catchphrase when he said "millions." As big as stars as many of WWE stars are, none of them could be the "god" that Mick Foley is called by fans to be. So let me say what they say again: "Foley is god."

  • Knowing that Mick Foley's wife and children are seeing this, this is just unwatchable.

  • i fukin hate the wwe now!!!! these were the best times... who the fuk is shemous haha

  • "I saw this on cops once" haha. Ace,

  • @owensindianinc I ROFL'D for about a minute at that hahaha, King absoloutly murded Cole back then everything cole said king disaproved haha, King has come out with many memorable lines, only the great one has more !!!

  • i dont watch wrestling anymore BUT when i did it was great. this is the wwf at its best. my favorite ppv.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA @ 9:35 someone threw a cup at the Rock and he spit back them. LOL. Man those were some of the most sickning chair shot I have seen. Honestly if they tried this today they would fire someone for "being too violent" WWE has turned into a bunch of pussies. This was when wrestling was great. The entertainment sucks donkey balls now.

  • @ChiTownWarrior1 yea i seen it .. and then the rock spit at them

  • LMAO @ the sparks.

  • You guys that sit here and say Foley had a recording of him saying "I Quit" to end the match are fucking idiots. There's no way in fucking hell Foley didn't say he quit LIVE in front of that crowd. Let's not insult The People's intelligence.

  • @msu2k9

no..the only fuckin moron is you. its not a speculation. its recorded fact. shane o mac played i quit from foley's "i will never quit" promo of heat & foley was unconscious.that was the storyline and they confirmed it on raw as well. its in beyond the mat and foley's autobiography also for further prove.

go read a book before making stupid claims about "intelligence"

    don

  • Mankind took around thirty minutes of being destroyed by Rock, and only after taking damn near 10 chair shots to the head, launched from 12 feet into electric cables, thrown into stairs, turnbuckles, handcuffed, get a bell rung on his head, and fallen through a table did he eventually say I quit. I don't care if this is fake, Mick is badass.

  • @razzlefrazzle123 absolutely nothing fake about those chair shots, they did some serious damage, mick foley is tougher and more crazy than any wrestler thats ever lived.

  • @codyj1234321 Yea He Was KO'd So The Had It Recorded

  • Fuckin Rocky, you could see Mandkind position himself to get hit in the back with the chair and rocky would hit him in the head. Still a great match.

  • LOL SCREWJOB

  • buttcrack2012 he does that purely because he is concerned for him

they are only human and this is all staged, but obviously injuries hapen and he was concerned for his welfare. its not very "entertaining" to see but it shows what these people felt for eachother. wrestlers themselves say there is no room for friends in this business, and any you do make are special. and its quite obviouse these 2 were friends from going through there history together

  • Classic attitude

  • damn those chair shots were heavy

  • OW!! ha ha 5:05

  • 1:27 epic :D

  • mankind is the greatest wwf/wwe wrestler of all time.

  • 1:16 rock clearly breaks character and asks "is he alright"

  • 2 bad jr wasn't commentating

  • greatest match ever...remember watching it live and thought the rock actually lost control at the end

  • "no! NOOO...!" YES!!! YEEEEEEESSS!

  • The Best of the Best WWE match in the history of wwe..

    damn fucking sooo good

  • epic

  • HAHAHA

King- "I saw this on COPS once!"

  • mankind is nuts

    rock is a great heel

    great match

  • I can't belive it, that was imense, but, didn't the rock say "I Quit first", like " NOW SAY IT, SAY I QUIT"

  • IMO This is still one of the biggest beatdowns I've seen in the WWF/E

  • There is no wrestler or humanbeing in history that can take as much punishment as Mick Foley. For all the people that say wrestling is fake need to sit down and watch this match.

  • @Kinnalkey CZW, IWA-MS and indies wrestlers.

  • nice people´s elbow

  • Cole just needs to chill the hell out

  • @watso9

    Christ Almighty!!!

  • 9 chair shots, and one to the back of the head....daaayyyummm!!!!

  • 1:16- Rock is a concerned friend

1:29- Rock as the funny ass heel.

I love this match. Vicious chairshots, funny quotes, and, as mick would say, the damn screwjob at the end of it all.

  • In retrospect its amazing Mick Foley wasn't killed.

  • Jesus, Cole does your head in doesn't he?

  • YES!

  • My favorite I Quit match

  • Excessive chair shots by the Rock

  • The Rock was so great as a heel!

  • 4:10 AMEN Jerry.

  • fowly jumps at :16

  • 1:16 rock asks the referee "is he alright?"

  • damn! we don't get to see these kind of matches anymore!!!

  • Back when Anaheim had the Arrowhead Pond

  • mick foley is god

  • lol at 5:49 "get your monkey ass up"

  • theres a really interesting documentary somewhere on youtube that has a section with mick foley speaking about this match, you also see him straight after the match, his head is totally cut to shit afterwards

  • yea i seen dat documentary...made da rock look like a dik cos dey only agreed to hit him 5 times wid da chair...but my man got CARRIED AWAY! poor foley....

  • its called beyond the matt

  • i think that it might have been cut and glued before hand so that it bleed when the glue got hit off, cause they sometimes do that to allow bleeding in a match, and the gash seems to be too big for a blade job.

  • One of the wrost beatings he ever took....Rock whooped his ass!!!!!!!!

  • Jesus, that was brutal. Have never seen the match before. Those were some vicious chairshots.

  • i dont think the rock was to happy with that either... that last chair shot in the ring was fucken brutal... was it the ref that said fuck off?

  • Jesus...

That was hard to watch...and hear.

  • i love how the lights go out but it dosnt affect the mics or cameras or anything... just saying unless they are on a separate circuit somewhere else how did that work

  • Garbage.

  • The Rock always gave some pretty inhumane chairshots.

  • that was recorded voice...he cheated

  • King is so fuckin funny omg

  • thats such a recorded i quit ... like honestly you cant see his chest moving like hes breathing to yell it and it just dosnt sound like it he was saying it then... lame way to end it rock

  • Not sure if you know it or not, but that was the story line. The following weeks it was revealed on RAW and stuff that The Rock cheated. It was all part of the twist/plan.

  • it is prerecorded, but that was part of the storyline

  • man this was when king was the man on the mic

  • They should have kept Rock heel for a while longer or turned him heel more often. He was better at it. HHH has never done something so evil.

  • run a man (stone cold) over??????

  • You're right, he was a much better heel I think.

  • best wwe match ever. need to bring back matches like this or tna's gunna take over

  • wwe is not even close to what it was in the 90s.

  • @sim019 the wwe is going to buy tna

  • @sim019 that's the problem...back then WCW/ECW was kickin WWF's ass...which was the reason WWF had to come up with such matches.....now TNA doesn't gives that PG WWE crap any competition....so we get to deal with that pile of stinkin smellin monkey crap called Cena.....

  • @FluidMechanix ecw never came anywhere near wwe

  • @sim019 well there is a i quit match comming up but it will b shit

  • @sim019

Matches that get out of hand and end up with eleven chairshots instead of five and nearly cave another man's head in? Yeah, want to see that...

  • lol near the end can anyone spot the theodor long

  • no no no no no that son of a bitch is gonna say i quit and i will be damned if he does'nt. god this is when wrestling was great...............now we get ''you can't see me'' how far does will WWE go.

  • the rock was only suppose to hit him 2-3 times and he ended up hitting him almost a dozen times. His wife and kids were watching at ringside and they couldn't watch and had to leave.

  • Foley wasn't happy with him after that. He says on Beyond the Mat that he didn't even want that last chair shot, that's why he was turning away. That last shot is fucking brutal. Pretty shitty thing to do cos he knew Foley's kids were there. The actual "I Quit" is fake as fuck as well. If they were going to pre-record it, they could have made it sound like he was struggling to speak or something. Very unrealistic.

  • That's what was always so funny about it

  • I'll assume you mean the fake "I quit" was funny. It never amused me, it jut got right on my tits straight away to be honest.

  • @kojaksmerrymen they did the fake cause it was part of the story.... later u found out that rock or vince put it on

  • actually in the beyond the mat thing that your refering to it shows that they were planing out the recording in advance and telling mankind how to give the signal to lawler to tell them to play the recording, it was all part of the storyline

  • Mick Foley is so amazing, like nothing hurts...

  • that peoples elbow was crucial!

  • who said i quit?

  • Mankind did. But it was recorded from a interview before the match.

  • He is unconcious at the end the 'i quit' i prerecoreded.

  • its prerecorded on the documentary beyond the matt they show the whole thing being worked out before hand, like having mick look over at jerry when he was getting in position to have the i quit recording played and everything, was part of a storyline.

  • @codyj1234321 yea, that sounded weird at the end when he said that. I was like, there is no way he said that they taped that

  • @codyj1234321 I think they stopped it coz the match was getting way too intense

  • 9:21 doesnt sound like he said it....still,Michael Cole insists

  • 1:27 laughin my ass off

  • 0:38 "He's still movin'! This idiot's like a Terminator!" LOL love that line.

  • get ur monkey ass of :P

  • Foley was knocked out...how many brutal chair shots did he take?

  • GODDAMN.

This is when wrestling used to be good.

  • This is one of Micheal Cole's best Commentating moments, because he really sets the tone for what's going on, and really works well as a voice for someone with Sympathy for Mankind and the Emotion in his voice conveys this really really well.

  • what?

  • if you watch beyond the mat, Jim ross is telling the king and michael cole what to say backstage

  • ok so

did the rock play a recording of mankind saying i quit to make it look like he won?

or was it fake cause foley was actually knocked out so they had to play a recording

  • Yeah it was part of the contraversy was the tape recording.....

  • actually it was decided before the match that a tape recording would be used

  • yes. . . .the following night on Raw, Mankind addressed that he was knocked out and the voice was recorded. . . .therefore the rock cheated. . . . . . Remember it like it was yesterday lol!!! i miss the old days of wrestling. . . . .

  • LOL! michael cole: Fuck off! 7:33

  • No, it was Earl Hebner saying 'knock it off'.

  • I just had a very vilanous hilarious thought. What If Orton played Rock and recorrded Cena saying, "i will not quit" into "i quit". I would LMAO if that happened

  • H epeoples elbowed him with chair on his head lmao

  • Lmao King is stupid''I saw this on cops once

  • Even though Michael Cole hated what happened, he must really miss those days, I bet if he could re-commentate, he would be like "Give him hell Rock" lol

  • haha and look at the chair it didn't even bend or dent! Not like the ones they have these days (plastic)

  • what an ending! You won't see stuff like that now in wwe as it's meant for fucking 5 year olds now

  • i watched this live when i was 6 on TV. it scared the shits out of me when the rock keep hitting repeatedly to mankind. though i didn't know that it was meant for adults back then. You have to be really mature to view this. Then to this day, this is the best match ever in the history of the attitude era. but to this point, the match was kinda brutal.

  • "that son of a bitch will say i quit and i'll be damned if he don't" lol

  • the annowsers called mankind mick folley at 7:28

  • lol, the arena lights went out

  • Es verdad era casi imposible por tantos silletazos que le dio la Roca

  • Cuando Mick foley se rinde al final el no habla sino que es solo una grabación

  • estaba noqueado q mas querias?

  • Fuck off! The Rock is an absolute legend. Undoubtedly the wrestler with the most charisma of all time! Face or heel every1 loved him! Don't get me wrong Austin was awesome, but The Rock was better!! Austin and The Rock cannot, and will never, be touched by anyother wrestler.... they were the best of the best!!

  • What about the Undertaker?!!!!

  • He's one of the greatest, don't get me wrong. But not on par with The Rock or Austin. They are the 2 greatest in the history of the business!

  • Mick Foley will always be the toughest S.O.B in the WWF. even though he get headshots 11 times, he still manage 2 to stay on his feet. WOW give foley a lot of credits for this.

  • He was only suposed to take 5 chair shots, but The Rock gotta head of himself and gave him 11, as at this time The Rock was inexpirienced in creating drama. Thats what Mick Foley said behind the scenes.

But yea..... Mick Foley was nuttts!!!!! Especially when competing in Hell In A Cell! Particulary against Undertaker and HHH! What a fucking legend though!!!

  • really nice match

  • they recorded his voice from a segment foley did

  • the chair shot on 8:47 is harsh!

  • What The Fuck ? Foley Couldn't Yelled I Quit SO LOUD. That Was Somebody in the back. Foley Couldn't Move.

  • 1:12...the rock steps out of character for abit

  • mankind didnt even say it.....it was a recording....when the words came out...foley wasnt even moving

  • the roc k did the ppls elbow to the face causing mankinds mask to rip open his skull and nearly killed mankind

  • the people's elbow can't kill him anyway you put it. the move is fake. he hits the elbow NEAR the chest... Not TO the chest.

  • BTW while the Rock was an ass for hittin Foley so many times, Foley could have ended it several times by just saying he quits. The Rock can't just stop hitting him, they have to keep the illusion. Rocky could have thought of something else to do but they are both at fault.

  • uhh dude this is fake and the matches are already set up so he said i quit whn he was supose to wwe is more like a soap opera then a sport

  • ok to clear something up, yes the match was pre-decided as is the way with the wwf and now the wwe. thats why it is called sports ENTERTAINMENT. also the voice was recorded. it wasnt him as was found out on the next raw. it is a soap opera of sorts yes because it is used to ENTERTAIN not be real.

  • this is one of my favorite matches ever...so entertaining, if it's not the Rock's ridiculing comments on trailer park trash, or the look on his face directly after Foley gets electrocuted, or the fact that he felt the need to bounce off the ropes to get a running start to clothesline a handcuffed Mankind, its the three chairshots after "you'll have to kill me"....so classic

  • heheh the rock is a freaking legend there's nobody like him

  • id like to see him face Randy Ortan in a legend vs legend killer match

  • one of the best matches I´ve ever seen :) 10 / 10

  • dam that was a good fightttttttt that how u punish someone

  • WWF is still the best in my mind, not like the WWE . IT still has some of it's magic left, but the essence of it's magic is gone/missing.

Cheers to the good, old WWF-- and the excellent memories of professional entertainment that they brought...

  • I love how Rock says, "Is he alright?" at about 01:12. I love that, I don't really know why-- but I just find it, I don't know I guess. endearing or admiral or something...

I gotta say, what these guys go to, to entertain us-- is beyond me. I mean, even when Mick was going to shatter the corporate jewels, you can see that he was very careful not to actually hit the corporate jewels.

  • best match ever

  • the sound was not real ?

  • what a match between 2 legends

  • lmao "the corporate jewels have been shattered"

  • there wasnt much he could do with his hands cuffed the was so gay in this match

  • i don't give a flying fuck about what nobody

says wwf is better than wwe and this match

    proves it.
