I mix it up personally, try to use a combo of gradient tools, brushes and other tricks---I like the way it seems you handle lighting. I wish it was a longer video, I love to watch the process, na mean
that's really cool. Only lasso and gradient. I never thought of just coloring the "whole" thing that way. And this is in Flash? As in Adobe cs3? Looks great man. I use both brushed and lasso, but more brush and I do it in photoshop.
The line art is very nice though. Is that vector graphics over a pencil sketch, or something? I've been trying to get into line drawing, but Illustrator is just hopelessly awkward and clumsy for me. Any idea what software was used for that piece? Cause there just has to be something less retarded than Illustrator.
Also I like that feathered selection and gradient technique. I'll try it :)
I'll give Flash a try then :). It's not so much the learning curve in Illustrator, though, more that it's such a clumsy interface. Bit like Photoshop. ;) Anyway let's see if I have more luck with Flash. Thanx
teach me :O u only use lasso tool and the gradient tools! wth... great work

The piece was digitally inked in Flash using the pencil tool. Illustrator is nice but it's a learning curve more so than Flash. Thanks for viewing :)

@drdirs
Try drawing by hand, then scanning it. You can tidy up your pencils in Photoshop, then do color in layers
GorillaDesperado 1 year ago
