  • A few days/weeks of illness sickness or shortage of good would result in big issues if weight loss was quick. (other than this issue) In regards to the fast weight/fat loss/gain you describe in this video, i would prefer it to be fast because each meal would have a higher impact on my health. A great video putting things in good perspective for the people having trouble losing weight/fat

  • great point

  • great point

  • I agree how weight loss can be slow at times..big problem for me! I'm also working out now to lose weight and gain muscles. I started after I read this certain website. The best part is, it's getting the lean muscular Holliwood look - not the BUFF one. You can check out my profile cause I can't post the link in Youtube.

  • for me I'm so thankful that I lost 1 lb per week in my workout atleast there is progress in doing so...thanks for the info...

  • There was over 100 who signed up 4 our weight loss thread on the quilt forum. All ladies, all ages, different disabilities. But still are losing. weight.Found your video's 5 days ago and told every one about them.Plus emailed some friends. So I just wanted 2 thank you,and say a BUNCH of women just came on board, and love you.Myself,I've lost 93 pounds in 4 yrs. With no help from pills or surgery.Just like you said, portion control, and moving more. Thanks SO Much.WE LOVE YOU 4 helping us.It's hard work

  • now thats a good way of looking at it!

  • better to thank your body for slow weight loss as it is an adaptation for survival; in times of famine. Not so much about weight gain.

  • Just a quick question to the 4 people who disliked this video....what was your objection to it?

  • I never looked at weight loss from this perspective before. Very eye opening and brutally honest.

  • @psychowildchild Thanks! I also have a BlogTalkRadio com show. You can listen there or on iTunes. Search Steve Turano. • i have been excersing for about 6 months now, every other day and have PUT ON 1 kg.

to be honest, i have more or less stopped weighing myself cause i've realised that that is not where i'm benefiting. My fat stomach IS getting smaller and smaller, which is why i started in the first place. The scales just give me a number, it means nothing. I'm happy with what i've achieved.

  • Keep up the good work!!!!!

  • haha i wuldnt mind if weight gain and weight loss happened rapidly it would still be much easier

  • lol I agree...It (seems) to me like weight gain does happen rapidly...lol so I would love if weight loss happened rapidly as well=)

  • you're funny maa....haha.....love u

  • why is everyone so concerned about weight? getting heavier is a good thing, it means you have a higher basal metabolic rate! what you want to be observant of is your BODY FAT PERCENTAGE and perhaps muscle mass percentage. Just because your losing weight doesnt mean its entirely beneficial for you.

  • About the water weight stuff. One pint of ANY pure liquid is equal to one pound. I, personally, drink about a gallon of water per day. I refill a 25 ounce Aquafina bottle five times per day from my faucet water filter. I just round the 125 ounces up to 128 to consider it a full gallon. That full gallon of water is exactly EIGHT pounds of weight...and most of it is not excreted from my body until the next day when I urinate in the morning.

I basically lose and gain eight pounds per day.

  • Tell this guy weight gain DOES happen fast. Or at least -- regaining weight DOES in FACT happen very fast. The sad truth about getting fat in the first place - your body will rebound back to that weight VERY quickly -- 2-3 lbs a day regain isn't unusual. I regained 7 lbs in two days, and didn't eat that much, and worked hard putting on a roof that weekend. Once you lose any weight, you MUST be very observant and contientious to avoid regaining it.

  • That's probably water weight.. no way you can gain 7lbs of fat or muscle for that matter, in just two days. Not even if you ate everything on the McDonald's menu and drank alcohol until you were comatose.

  • yes its gotta be "water weight" . Most of all bodies is water weight. The sad truth is, once you get fat in the first place, you gain weight again very quickly, and NOT just by eating a few hundred extra calories. Calories just do not add up when talking about weight gain. You gain a lot more weight very quickly than calories alone would indicate.

  • You obviously don't have a clue what you're talking about and have already decided that you and not the experts are correct on the subject of weight-loss/weight-maintenance so there is no point in arguing with you.

All I will say is, you can't gain 7lbs of fat in 2 days unless you ate over 7lbs of pure animal fat.

p.s. Fat is nothing but stored calories so your comment is rather asinine in dismissing calorie intake as an accurate way to lose/maintain ones weight.

  • I agree. That is also the reason why some women lose some weight after their monthly periods. Hormonal imbalance before the period causes water retention.

  • I was thinking this very same thing today, lol. Its a process that seems slow but its so worth it!

  • Thanks a lot!!

  • thank you so much, for your kindness in sharing this information! mnay God bless you richly

  • Weight gain seems to be faster. I gained 10 pounds in 2 weeks. It takes me like 6 weeks to take that off.

  • Same here. I put on 20pds in five months and although I'm working out 3-5x a week, zippo weight loss. Talk about disgusted. :-(.

I believe the lack of eating a balance die is the reason why I haven't loss any weight.

  • These are really great, I am watching my food a lot and I was wondering if it was working , yet another myth cleared in a friendly manner thanks to you! :D

  • thank you for sharing your wisdom!

  • lol in spring break ... for just one week i gain 10 pounds men.... 10 fkkking pounds... how long take me to lose them like 3 weeks or maybe the month

  • thank you for these videos. you seem to care about overweight people. :)

  • great advises, can you please tell us if quit eating bread really necessary to loose weight

  • well it would be better cause you could lose the weight faster, peoplem wouldnt lose there motivation if they saw results so I see your point but disagree

  • WOW!u r realy amazing & nice videos man! could you please explain to me if it's okay w/ what i'm doing (i'm athletic but just gain a few pounds when i was recovering from my knee injury).i'm on a diet for 40 days & i'm just eating fruits and 1g fat tuna for protein, no bread or any processed food, and doing aerobics n intense weight lifting. Do u think the lost pounds will be gained fast even if i eat moderately after da diet when I still follow the same exercise routine?

  • Actually you may have to pick up your eating a bit once you hit your target weight so you don't continue losing weight.

  • thanks a lot Steve!

  • can you please convince me how bad binging is for my body because i binge almost everynight. i used to be anorexic. and im not fat now but i look fat, im very untoned and have cellulite and im only 17

  • It's not a good habit. Eventually, depending on how much you eat, and how active you are, it could lead to weight gain. Better to not feel guilt and eat small amounts throughout the day. This will help prevent you from starving which causes you to overeat on just about anything, causing feelings of guilt. People must remember the body needs fuel to function. And as long as you don't overeat and get just a little exercise you'll never have a weight problem.

  • thank you very much for responding and giving me this little boost. i really appreciate all your videos. by the way, are you a phys Ed teacher or something. what i mean is what do you do? cause you know alot of stuff.

  • Thank you. I'm a personal trainer. But more importantly I've been doing this for 20 years with many elite athletes. This plus additional training and continuing education makes my information based on science not opinion.

  • wow, thanks so much for sharing all this information on youtube.

  • Im getting headaches is there a reason why?

  • its a tumor... could be a number of reasons, if its re-occuring do what any head ache tablet directs... see a doctor.

  • Another awesome vid steve!

  • Thanks. I did and some how it became corrupted and wouldn't play. So I uploaded it again.
